@RussianFedora (Hypercubed)
It's what I do best, really. I have to ask, though. Does that include Pokemon Mystery Dungeon? 'Cuz if we're talking about shows, then that only works for the two TV specials they had, both of which were terrible. Otherwise, yes, pretty much.

What's the deal with the Lieutenant? Despite his position, he doesn't seem to do much. He's been around for multiple episodes, but still is rather unimportant, aside from being the strongest of Amon's army. Kinda' weird, he's like the top nameless mook. (Lieutenant doesn't count as an actual name.)

I assumed it's bad because of the Pokemon shows I've seen on TV. Of course, I'm not sure whether or not it is, but based on what Pokemon television shows have to go off of, I imagine that it is.

I wondered the same thing. It doesn't seem like he'll be playing a major part aside from initiating incredible fight scenes.

@RF (H)
You'd be right about that. Pokemon was good for, maybe, 2 seasons? Once you start using "rap" as your intro song to be cool and hip, things are destined to go wrong. Back on topic, Tarrlok is going to screw something up. Actually, he already has, picking fights with Amon twice, but something bigger will befall, methinks. Also, Amon kinda' has a point of inequality when there does not seem to be any non-benders making up the United Republic Council. I thought Tarrlok was the non-bender representative at first because of his colorless seeming clothes.

And so, the tournament ends. It was really just a neat-o plot deivce, far less serious than other events of the show, Reminds me of Yu-Gi-Oh! ANY OF THEM. I do like how much humor they have, despite the dark themes. A good action show should be able to have both light-hearted and heavy moments, not just constant "Everything is dead/a lie/stupid/wrong/cruel!" angst. Heeey, Aangst! Ha ha! Bolin and Tenzin provide 99% of the funny lines, as well as the reaction faces. And, man, is Amon sneaky! Dang PR master bastard. I liked it more when Zero was a masked revolutionist using the media to do things, because I liked what he was doing. Amon, not so much. More back story, that's good. The older Aang flashback is still a mess, though. The fighting was really cool this episode, probably because of Bei Fong's grapplehooks. All in all, high quality episode.

WHY DO ALL THE TOURNEY TEAMS HAVE SUCH BORING NAMES!? POKEMON MYSTERY DUNGEON DOES BETTER THAN THIS!!

It's realistic. Have you ever seen the shitty names American teams have?

Toronto Raptors
Miami Heat
Orlando Magic
Calgary Flames
Phoenix Coyotes
New York Knickerbockers
Dallas Cowboys
Seattle Seahawks
Las Angeles Galaxy
Real Salt Lake

It's like they got fucking 9 year old boys to come up with these things.

Oh my god, is that actually what the earthbenders did in the movie? Shymalan had no idea what he was doing.

It took 30 guys to lift a 10 pound rock, but only one guy to launch it at ~5 MPH.

M. Night Shaymamamatylallananana

There are people who think Amon is one of Aang's children. HOW? WHY? What potential motive would one of his kids have for disliking benders!? And as for that .gif showing how little M. Night knows of the show, each bending style is based off of actual fighting styles. Just throwing your arms around like that is not very convincing.

Admit it Amerifat, Euros have better names for their teams than your licensed brands.

>Sure is /s/ in here :P

YES LORD AMON! WE SHALL ALSO USE THESE STRAWS FROM NOW ON!

Like what, Manchester United? How boring of a name is that?

Our sports teams are brands, yes, but they're much more exciting than your posh, proper "clubs." Besides, we don't have to put advertisements on our team's jerseys like you Eurofags. I'd rather support my team without being a walking Volkswagen commercial, thank you kindly.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I PRESENT: KORRA X LIN SHIPPING.

Alright, the ship is creepy but that pose is all kinds of awesome. She's basically a metal Spiderman.

I guess the assumption in this ship is that there's a lot of sexual tension between the two.

IT'S TRADITION YOU UNCULTURED SWINE! (Imagine the rest of this in a posh English accent)

It prevents something like the Minneapolis Lakers from moving to Los Angeles….where there are no lakes >:[ And we put ads on our shirts so we don't have to plaster the screen with them:

But I digress, this is a Korra thread so…

Has anyone seen this NPR article about Korra?

Some Nickelodeon executives were worried, says Konietzko, about backing an animated action show with a female lead character. Conventional TV wisdom has it that girls will watch shows about boys, but boys won't watch shows about girls.

During test screenings, though, boys said they didn't care that Korra was a girl. They just said she was awesome.

Yes, because every single relationship in a story is sexual.

1: Relating to the instincts, physiology, and activities connected with physical attraction or intimate contact between individuals.

2: Of or relating to the two sexes or to gender.

So, yes, relationships are intrinsically sexual.

How dare you! Anyways, what would you suggest the teams be called? They seem just fine to me.

Part of me wants to legitimately discuss this.

Part of me wants to spam your wall with Zukka art.

And part of me doesn't care enough.

I posted "inb4 Zukka spam" on RussianFedoras wall.

Dude, you need to do it now.

I would make a thread about this on the "meme research" forum to see if you can get any information.

In other news:

On one hand, Amon has to be a bender. However, on the other hand, it was said in the original series that energy-bending predated element bending.

Is it possible that non-benders can energy-bend, or is Amon secretly a bender just trying to gain more power?

He could be a bender who genuinely believes that benders currently in power are oppressive. They aren't mutually exclusive.

I'm surprised no one did this sooner:

@Sting

I think he's a bender trying to get more power. Obviously though, at this point, not much can be told.

Btw, I never finished watching Last Airbender. Should I finish watching that before I continue watching Korra? I got to the part where they stop the giant drill thing from entering the Earth city.

SwagGIR (Muffins)

Do you happen to live in Holland? They were very delayed with the episodes. America started with season 3, while we were stuck at The Drill.
At least we got to see The Invasion and The Eclipse before America did :D. But my VCR broke when I taped The Invasion D:<

Explosive Lasers AKA Solaire AKA Sexiest wrote:

@SwagGIR: You really need to finish the Last Airbender. That's the part where it picks up and gets more badass, deeper, cooler, etc.

Now I feel obligated to finish watching the series. I stopped watching around the time Aang was learning fire bending with the fire emperor's son (Thanks Canadian television schedule). How many episodes should I watch before the finale?
