So, there's an argument of sorts going on with mods. But none of them are bothering to fill you guys in. So, I will.

There's a discussion going on over whether an edit should count if two or three tags are included. Some say that the minimum should be three, others say that that's not what the rules state. Just letting you all know.

Edit: Just in case, I'd say start adding three tags.

Double Edit: I've done my part and am now lazy. Do your part and start directing participants to this post. Don't be a dick and use this knowledge to your advantage.

The problem is, not every image can be tagged with 3 tags, under that I mean, there are images I can barely even give a single tag cause:
A) I can't and don't want to use Entry name
B) Image only contains one charcter
C) Can only add tags that aren't allowed. Example: "boobs"

Requested tags for this image: pedobear, awesome face, guy fawkes mask, y u no, keyboard cat, yao ming, bitch please, rick astley, fail whale, fuuuuuuu, forever alone, cereal guy, nyan cat, rage face, jack o lanterns, pumpkins

In specific instances like these, the entry name is a perfectly valid tag (stop arguing with me on this the big man says so). Tags like "fanart" or the medium (like "digital art" or "painting")work if you absolutely must, but keep in mind that this isn't really policy, and is sort of extra fluff. For foreign sources, using localized names is also a good way to meet your quota, such as with Fire Emblem characters or Pokemon. The "artist:name" tag is also a free spot to fill up, if you can find the original work for a piece of fanart.

Barring all of these, you shouldn't feel 100% obligated to meet the quote. If an image is so plain, simple, or unremarkable that it warrants 2 tags, only use 2 tags. We'd rather have a properly tagged image that we can fix later than an image with random tags slapped on to fulfill an imaginary quota. Sorry ShiJo <3

K nevermind, 3 is the absolute minimum. If you need any more methods for tagging a really ambiguous piece of fanart, try the name of the source for the material (i.e Nickelodeon for Legend of Korra fanart). Literally as long as it's relevant, you can tag it except booru tagging you know who you are.

The image was frontpaged and as a result could not be tagged conventionally, so I did what RandomMan said in the first page of this forum post and put in a request for the image to be tagged by a moderator.

Yes, the minimun number of tags is 3, tagging the entry name or a variation is perfectly valid (Granted the rules say otherwise, but it's a silly rule, some people search images by tags, too, looking to change that one rule) you can use tags like "exploitable" "template" "ms paint" , "photoshop", "exploitable" "edit", etc, get creative. Entries usually have tags of their own so you can get ideas from there if you can't tag then you can move on, again, this is why we updated the untagged images area so users don't hit a wall and stop tagging

Users that didn't have scrapbooker powers should have them by now, if that isn't the case let me know as soon as possible

About the tags, well yeah usually I don't slap any tag on it, I rather sit over an image for 2 hours than do that

So, we are allowed to use the entry name as a tag? And we need to add a minimum of 3 tags? Why didn't the rules say so?! It could have saved users the trouble!

I checked how many edits everyone who is participating made during Day 1.

This is an unofficial leaderboard. It is something I undertook because I felt like it. Also, since I'm human, I might have messed up somewhere. It shouldn't be anything major, but it may skew the edit count by up to 10 edits.

Sorry, I'll probably start tagging things starting tomorrow. I spent all yesterday watching Game of Thrones to start catching up with the show and all day today studying for a test tomorrow. Come tomorrow though the tags shall flow.

I'm pretty sure as long as you add at least 3 tags it will count towards your total.
