The worst part about this is that he could have just applied a tiny bit of critical thinking and looked up the definition of advertising.

Advertising:
the act or practice of calling public attention to one's product, service, need, etc., especially by paid announcements in newspapers and magazines, over radio or television, on billboards, etc.:

A product is a "thing produced by labor" – it's literally anything made. Especially by, but not exclusively by paid announcements.

Advertisements:
A notice, such as a poster or a paid announcement in the print, broadcast, or electronic media, designed to attract public attention or patronage.

Money not needed – paying is one of the possibilities. It's there to attract attention.

Advertising:
the action of calling something to the attention of the public especially by paid announcements

Especially by, but not exclusively, again.

I can't find a single angle he can justify himself with.

I think he's just got a classic victim complex. He's got another video about a problem he had with UPS and he calls the manager a bully too.

For someone who wants to be treated like an adult he sure calls people bullies a lot.

I think this guy has some kind of mental problem to be saying shit like that.

I have no idea how this is humorous in any way shape or form, so I'm just going to laugh along.

But on a much more serious note, you'd think he'd know better than to feed the trolls after being on KYM for any length of time.

Here's an image that Shijo posted in the Good Fffriggen Warning Response thread that's relevant

He was serious about making that video apparently

Also… sorry to be a spoil sport, but we talked it over and came to the conclusion that it would be best if you all, like, don't go comment on his videos en masse. The first video, unsurprisingly, had a bunch of KYM users commenting on it. We do not want to make it look like KYM is brigading someone (again). Suspensions might be handed out if it happens.

So don't use your KYM username, then?

Basically, if we see a bunch of comments we can link back to specific KYM users, there'll be consequences. Doesn't need to just be the same username.

'These are the people who are watching over your children when they're on places like this'

Fellas, I'll be needing better babysitters ASAP please, my eyes have been opened towards this atrocious atrocity

parents shouldn't be concerned about how KYM's mods will treat their kids, they should be concerned about the amount of NSFW pictures in all the galleries instead

Mod Edit: Please DO NOT comment on the YouTube video. Brigading is not allowed on and off the site, and you will be punished as a result.

What was his Account? I've literally never heard of him.

Brigading is not allowed on and off the site, and you will be punished as a result.

If you're going to punish people for it, it needs to be in the rules section.

Maybe it's because this guy's a prick and you're actually likeable.

This is honestly one of the most kind and uplifting posts I've read on this site in a long time. And what a place to find it in too.

I am not sure there has been, at any point in time, a person who genuinely saw brigading as behaving while having a sane mind. It certainly also does not lend the site towards being a "welcoming place".

So from what I can tell he says his self-promotion on here isn't real advertising because he isn't trying to attract people to a paid service/good, and therefore he isn't breaking a rule. I think that may be the root of the problem.

You don't think anyone has ever thought that commenting on something they were linked to is sane behavior? It's not like people here plan on "brigaiding" anyway, it's just multiple people individually deciding to comment on something.

I responded directly to xTSGx, who mentioned specifically the statement about brigading.

I should also note that many of the users who went there simply mocked him. Some, like Spider-Byte, tried reasonable argumentation. Several just made jokes.

Harass: to annoy or bother (someone) in a constant or repeated way; to annoy persistently; to create an unpleasant or hostile situation for especially by uninvited and unwelcome verbal or physical conduct

Harass: to disturb persistently; bother continually; pester

By definition, KYM users going to mock someone off-site repeatedly because one of their works was posted on-site is harassment, which would obviously break the "Behave" rule. It shouldn't take much to realize that the multiple mocking comments are probably not pleasant, and reflect poorly on the userbase (and thus KYM by extension).

I should add we've been enforcing this for a while. A bit back some users went harassing a tumblr user after some material of theirs was posted on KYM, because they didn't like it. They were given a choice: apologize to the user, or get banned. (They apologized.)

Good fffriggin comment had issues with users going in groups to mock, criticize, and jeer people whose comments were posted there, despite the fact that it specifically said to not respond to them. This was part of the reason it was locked.

As I said, I've discussed this with multiple mods. All who have weighed in are in agreement, so please don't go thinking it was a unilateral decision, like this guy did thinking that his ban was unilateral (bans are rarely such). You do have a point in that it's not clearly mentioned in the rules, although I do think the Behave rule covers it. I'll try to bug someone about that.

Fair enough. If that does continue to be enforced then it would be nice if it were stated explicitly in the rules and ideally in more specific terms then brigaiding because brigaiding implies a group effort whereas in most cases the users are acting individually.

>goes to kym for the sole purpose of sharing videos to 'help depressed teens', which just happened to be his
>cries m0d ab00s when banned
>responds to criticism by making MOM'S GONNA FREAK: the song

For someone who's supposed to be such a tough anti-bully he seems to have thin skin. He really needs to stop victimizing himself in my opinion, especially with an ego as big as his.
