I would consider myself a fan of Jojo. I have not read the manga, but will do so when I have some spare time. I do have All Star Battle. Just bought Old Man Joseph, Lisa Lisa, and Baoh today. I gotta say, Baoh is ridiculous. I suck at fighting games, but can do pretty good with Baoh.

Lisa Lisa on the other hand…

So Disney's going to be airing Doraemon.
Any thoughts on this? I think it's cool that it will be airing in the west, but I'm kind of annoyed how they're going to be changing up the names of certain things like 4Kids would do in their dubs. It will be interesting to see how this turns out, as Doraemon has an absolutely insane amount of episodes.

I decided to pop by this thread an ask if any of you guys could recommend me some good manga of the romantic comedy genre? Preferably something that has already been finished.

It's just that I happened to run into "The World God Only Knows" from the recommended mangas of Watamote, and really enjoyed it, reading through the whole thing in just a few days. So I was thinking if someone here happened to know any good mangas that are similar to that?

Oh, and I also liked Love Hina (the manga) a whole lot, so maybe something a bit like those two.

Most of the romantic stuff I find is shoujo, which I don't find as interesting, so I had to turn to you guys for good recommendations.

And if you can't think of any romantic comedies, might you know any series that have a similar style of humour to "Great Teacher Onizuka"? Or to be more exact, a main character as great as Onizuka.

Try out Angel Densetsu, its about a guy with a scary face named Kitano who is actually the nicest guy in the whole series, but due to a bunch of misunderstandings about his appearance, he gets in a bunch of crazy situations.

ex:

Also on the anime side of things, anybody here watch World Fool News? its pretty hilarious and the art style is cool

Hmm.. The first chapter seems very promising. Enough to make me laugh out loud a few times. I'm definitely going to keep reading this one in the future.

The art style's a bit like Shounan Junai Gumi was when it started out, so I'm also pretty interested in seeing how the authors style is going to improve over the course of the manga.

Thanks for the suggestion.

no prob and there is a definite improvement in the art style as the story progresses, its kinda cool.

fun fact: its by the same guy that made Claymore

I watched through the School Rumble anime, and read the proper ending of the manga. I don't think I'll read all the way through the manga when I know how it'll end, even if it is most likely way better than the anime was.

As for Tora Dora, that's a new title for me. I'll check it out, since it seems like something I'd like to read.

Hehe, I'm sorry. Started working more hours and finals and whatnot, I have had very little time.
Anyways, because a surplus of disposable income due to me working my butt of, I have a ton of figures coming soon. I can't wait to see them. These are three of them

they may be the raciest figures I've purchased so far… but then again, I also have a booby mousepad, so I've already gone off the deep end.

Yay, Dac's back! Now we can have more arguments over Recently, My Sister is Unusual. I will say this on the topic of Mekakucity Actors though, I have recently found myself really enjoying the show, it's probably in my top 5 for the season, Although naturally, it falls short of The World is Still Beautiful (which didn't have an episode this week, but doesn't stop me from still telling you all to watch it) and Kawai Complex. It's still beating Mahouka though, which firmly remains on shit-tier.

YAY MORE THE WORLD IS STILL BEAUTIFUL FANS. Whenever shows like this start getting fans I get really happy, because in a world where Mahouka is the most popular thing on at the moment bar Jojo, I get really sad

Ah yes, irregular magic school whatever. Call me crazy, but I can't get behind an incest relationship. The intro is cool though. I'll finish it, but it looks like it will be a solid 5-6/10

Last edited May 18, 2014 at 08:08PM EDT

I'm going to avoid bringing up Recently, My Sister is Unusual in response to that comment. I promise. But I just think that Mahouka is putrid. It's a shitty, shitty show with one of the most abhorrent world views I've seen from the medium so far.

Not actually anime, but Disney released some pics of the upcoming Big Hero 6.

The kids hair. It looks so, for lack of a better word, anime-ish.

Also, Is anyone watching No game No life? I started a couple days ago and I think it may be favorite for this current season.

looks like kougami

YES, FINALLY. No Game No Life is fantastic, is one my favourites along with Mekakucity Actors (the last episode was amazing, Ene is so great).

Steph is top waifu material.

One of my favorite things about the show is how mean they are to steph. I love how they assumed steph was just an idiot ( or a "steph") and when they found out she was both popular and smart in school, the forced her to be their dog for the day. Or how they gave her bed sheets to wear.

Also, first thing that came to mind for me was Shintaro Kisaragi

Last edited May 21, 2014 at 08:40PM EDT

Personally, I find it entertaining. The story is nothing special but it has it's moments, there is a few interesting twist but like I said, nothing really special. The characters are good and funny, especially Chaika (one of the main protagonists).

I enjoy it a lot to be honest.

Oh right, I finished "Darker Than Black" yesterday. A really good story, 4/5. There is a few plot holes at the end but is definitely something worth watching. I didn't bother in watch the second season.

Now I'm watching Psycho-Pass. Is amazing.

Last edited May 21, 2014 at 09:51PM EDT

Well, I'll probably check it out later, but not now.

About No game No life, what I really like is that they actually do seem really smart. I really feel they can pull off what they are doing. For me at least, it never really feels contrived or like a Gambit Roulette
Episode 6 was a really cool and I really got into it.

Akame ga kill cast previewed

@Loli
YAY ANOTHER PSYCHO-PASS FAN WOOOOOO!!!!!
Jesus Christ I love that show, it takes a lot for a show to be able to beat Durarara in terms of entertainment for me, but it did. I love the characters (Especially Kougami <3), and the story, and it's one of the first times where I've been able to appreciate the villain. It's just fantastic (Too bad that it looks like season 2 is only going 12 episodes)

As for Chaika The Coffin Princess, it looks great, and I have it in the backlog (might start watching when I've finished watching all the old series of Monogatari), and I want to watch it before season 2 comes out.

As for No Game, No Life, I saw the first episode and I couldn't stand it. Not as bad as Mahouka, though, but then again, I don't think anything will be as bad as Mahouka for me.

So, I finished reading Angel Densetsu a few days ago, and I've gotta say that it was one of the funniest series I've ever read. Funny enough to make me laugh out loud on several occasions, and to make me give recommendations to my friends. Thanks for suggesting this gem.

I also read thought the available chapters of Toradora!, and thought it was pretty nice too.

But when it comes to Angel Densetsu, I've gotta admit that I became especially fond of the way Norihiro draws female characters. His somewhat semi-realistic drawing style is something I've been trying to find and emulate for years, and seeing his drawings makes me feel inspired too. I've also been thinking of starting with Claymore at some point or another. Even though the premise doesn't interest me all that much, I'm willing to give it a go just because of the art.

As for other titles, I've started reading Soul Eater again after a long break, and I'm thinking of checking out Bakuman and Kuroshitsuji.

@Muumi
If the Kawai Complex/Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou manga is anything like the anime adaptation, then I'd recommend you check that out. It's not that far in though

Alright, considering you're all huge Monogatari fans, have any of you read the source material? It's just that I really need to satisfy my curiosity about

Nadeko. Does the conclusion of Nadeko Medusa/Hitagi End mean that she doesn't appear in the rest of the series (With Koyomi being told to avoid her)? I ask because I just need to know, I have a burning sense of curiosity which needs to be satisfied. Besides, Nadeko is like, the best character.

Funny, I had a feeling that would be your favorite character. Man, I need to stop posting in this thread.

@monogatari

I haven't read the light novels, sadly, buuuuut I think you're right about nadeko.

I'm reading the light novels of "Toaru Majutsu no index", I saw the anime and I thought "well why not", they are really good. If you saw the anime (and you liked it) you should probably read the light novels.

As far as I know Araragi does indeed follow Kaiki's advice and avoids her for her own s(n)ake.

So…

She is not seen again.

But, besides that… DID YOU JUST SAY NADEKO IS BEST CHARACTER?

Last edited May 24, 2014 at 04:27AM EDT

I find Nadeko the most interesting character, plus I'm a huge fan of Yandere characters. And besides, this isn't the first time I've had an unpopular opinion on best character (just look at my avatar. And my favorite Kill La Kill character other than Tsumugu is Rei). Too bad she doesn't appear again.

@Loli
That's a sign that you're starting to understand my taste in guys. I'm not sure if that's a good thing for you or not.

To keep it relevant here is a gif of nanana playing terraria 2.

Only a few episodes more ;_;

Sadly, the manga has not been translated and I can't find the novels. Maybe is just matter of time. (If someone finds the novels or the manga translated please tell me)

Finished watching Ergo Proxy today, it was good, really cool art and the characters were nice, but at times it got a bit confusing for the sake of confusion. The ending could've been better.

But its all okay cause Pino was so cute.

d'aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw

Ergo Proxy was pretty nice. The confusing parts reminded me of stuff like X-Files, but then on the other hand, it never felt TOO confusing in my opinion.

But then on the other hand, I had just watched Serial Experimets Lain (my fav anime btw) before I watched Ergo Proxy. Lain's kinda impossible to beat when it comes to the confusion factor.

The only thing I really remember about Ergo Proxy, is Pino playing the melodica in the desolate wasteland. And that thing is burnt to my mind as one of the coolest scenes I've seen in an anime.

There's just so much unsaid emotion those scenes.

Lain is also favorite of mine, and i started watching Ergo Proxy because i heard it was similar, however, i found myself understanding lain more (or atleast coming to an alright interpretation of it), but it is definitely one of the most mind screwy things ever.

And it's time for our weekly "Watch The World is Still Beautiful and Kawai Complex" PSA. Seriously, they had the best episodes this week, they truly are the best things on this season for me.

Catching up on The World is still Beautiful, but i agree that Kawai Complex is definitely one of the best animes this season.

I recommend catching up with it fast, it's a great feel good show, it's a nice thing to watch. And Kawai Complex is hilarious, and it's been getting really cute the past few weeks (especially thee last episode, which almost made me die of happideath)

I'm not sure if this could count, but i wanted to show this to you guys. A little bit of knowledge sharing, i guess.

(There are 16 parts to this)

So, what are your thoughts on animation in anime?

Last edited May 25, 2014 at 09:36AM EDT

Fucking shit, I just got ripped off today. I bought a figure that was supposed to be in brand new condition. Instead, I received a figure that first off, came backwards (my first clue that it wasn't new), a piece of her hair broken, and was an obvious bootleg. It sucks spending quite a bit of my hard earned money just to get ripped off. Luckily, Amazon has a money back guarantee for shit like this I guess, so if I don't here from the seller in 3 days, I'll file a complaint.

This is what I ordered, but the paint on mine is really dull and measy, and the hair looks so plasticy and cheap… not to mention broken.
I did get my other figure today, Rias Gremory 1/4 scale. It was in great condition, but I didn't anticipate just how big it would be, not to mention you can remove all her clothes. So yeah, it's really pervy.

Nice, I admit that besides maybe Brynhildr (only maybe), Mekakucity Actors has my favorite op by far. I have a soft spot for Baby Step's and Haikyuu's ed though.

^
I love Brynhildrs op, but only as an op. What I mean is that the music and the visuals are great, but I would never listen to the music by itself. Mekakucity actors though…. God damn, I love that song so much.

So, Brynhildr huh. I really like it, but in the way that I know its not really that good, but It's still really enjoyable to watch.

The best anime of the season for me though is No Game, No Life.

Brynhildr and Soul Eater Not are my ironic watches, but I'd probably say that's more of a case with Soul Eater Not than Brynhildr. I tried to watch No Game No Life and hated it, but it's not the worst show this season coughMahoukacough. I don't think I need to say what my two favorite shows are though, eh?

I will say this, I don't think I've been giving enough credit to Baby Steps, Ping Pong and One Week Friends though, they're all solid shows as well, and definitely worth checking out though

Mah nigga. Well, I don't think is the best one of this season but is definitely on the top 5 with Mekakucity Actors, Kawai Complex, One week friends, Captain Earth and Nanana's Buried Treasure. Yeah, I suck at math.

Also, what the fuck with that "Fake End"? Man, that's a weird twist. The ending/credits reminded me that episode of KLK when Nui interrupted the credits and then the final battle happened…I miss KLK.

I enjoy Brynhildr, especially those very well placed lens flares. Maybe I should read the manga…the manga doesn't have lens flares ¿right? ¿RIGHT?

Kazumi >>>> Neko

If Ryouta doesn't marry Kazumi at some point in the series I swear to god I'm gonna drop it.

I agree with that.

Loli for suggesting anyone is better than Neko.

I am not suggesting anything, I'm just pointing out the most undeniable fact: anyone is better than Neko. Even vegetative girl is better than her and she is like "Oh no, you all gonna die" but then nobody dies. ÂżWhat kind of character does that? Let me tell you who does that, the worst character ever in the whole history of anime.

Accept this simple fact: Kazumi >>all the other girls>> Neko.

Simple as that, denying it won't take you anywhere.

I'm watching Coppelion, the animation and the art are both fantastic. The story is really good too. You guys should watch it; it only has 13 episodes but totally worth it.
