KYM Pony General VIII: One Pony Away From a Cease and Desist

So since we have a few months before the new season starts and we get a new injection of some of that sweet, sweet heroin pony, how about we do a forum thing instead. And by "do a forum thing," I mean post ponies doing [pulls slip of paper out of hat] . . . old memes!

Which means I have the perfect image to get this thread back to life:

Is Twiface an old meme?

Check the "artifact" tag on Derpibooru. Another decent rule of thumb might be to use the Derpibooru/Ponibooru "exodus" as a reference point. If it was a meme on Ponibooru, then it's an old school Pony meme.

Hi

This is the first post I've ever made in pony general and it may be the last for quite a while depending on the circumstances so I won't waste your time

I heard the words "pony" and "meme" in the same sentence, so I barged in as quickly as possible.

Please post old memes so I can turn them into entries.

Thanks

But if you are, I can give you a ton of older memes. I have a lot of images saved from Ponibooru, and I can pick from those if you want to research them.

You know where to find me. Or I may post some here of my own volition.

Old memes huh? Well, that's better than my idea to revitalize the thread, which was to start posting butts again. That always seemed to get people's spirits up. Middle ground.

Also, I mentioned a while ago that one of the Manehatten fillies from Pinkie Pride appeared later in Made in Manehattan. Turns out she was actually seen earlier than that. In fact, ALL FOUR of the fillies in Cheese Sandwich's flashback were younger versions of ponies already seen in Manehattan.

Little things like this make me happy. I mean, they could have just used existing filly models, but they instead chose to make and implement new models for the sake of a callback that only the stupidly nerdy fans would notice or care about (like me). Someone clearly had a fun day at work.

How about that one meme that had Rarity fighting giant crabs (size may vary)? The general consensus seemed to indicate that nobody knew exactly how it came to be, but the truth is that one guy made it happen: the australian artist whatsapokemon.

From what I've learned, all he did was commissioning a bunch of artists with that random and silly idea (what? You were expecting some kind of lost treasure buried deep in, uh, Tunguska or something that would provide the origin of why a fashionable unicorn goes full mortal kombat on colossal crustaceans? No, the words silly and random are literally all you need to know!). Anyway, nobody would've guessed that this idea would've turned viral. From there and onwards, everyone wanted to do their own version of the fight.

Who wants to take bets that the baby princess episode is going to be Baby Cakes episode Mk2?

As in, "AHHHH! NEWBORN CHILD HAS GODLIKE POWERS! I CANNOT DEAL!"

Or we can bet someone's going to make Memes to that effect. I bet its coming to mind as we speak to many.

……Can one even say that in a Pony Thread? You're telling me that that's not enough to start a conversation in pony thread?! I've seen less information start conversations in pony thread! Hell, you posting without a spoiler tag should've started a whole conversation of "OMG come on man, you just spoiled the entire series for me! This is why I don't come here anymore." in itself.

Another thing WE HAVE A DATE FOR THE PREMIERE?!

Ryumaru Borike wrote:

Not really a date, just spring

Why is it that the moment I read that, my first thought was that everybody is gonna be singing this when it starts?

Granted… Its really just ONE line that's stuck in everyone's head.

It's been… 2 days and no posts? Does that make posting when the last post was also mine somehow okay? Its always weird when I suddenly get a productive week for myself and nobody else is posting.

So… I made one update a day or two ago on my Sburb Ponies Tumblr comic, and I'm working on another along the same lines as it; namely a pony showing off some flashy powers.

However the one I'm still working on uses the dreaded "humanlike pose" which I find notoriously frustrating, and while I managed to get something "vaguely workable", I'm not sure if its quite right… Which is a bit to live up to considering the other update was slightly better than what I usually do.

Anyways, here's the work in progress sketch:

Imagine that she's trying to use some kind of Aura Sphere like technique.

Also, just for quality comparison:

…Can one even say that in a Pony Thread? You’re telling me that that’s not enough to start a conversation in pony thread?! I’ve seen less information start conversations in pony thread! Hell, you posting without a spoiler tag should’ve started a whole conversation of “OMG come on man, you just spoiled the entire series for me! This is why I don’t come here anymore.” in itself.

I think its hard to say it technically needs a spoiler, given that the information given last season's revelation, it was effectively a forgone conclusion even before they officially revealed the appearance.

Of course… The fact that we aren't talking about it that much is indeed a bit odd… However I think that's more a facet of Pony Based memes being less omnipresent than before, so on a site specifically about memes, there's less drift towards pony general.

Conversely, if you look at Derpibooru and search her by name, you'll find quite a few examples of reactions to it; though at this point I'm pretty sure most of them are pretty insincere.

Let's go grab a recent one and place it in spoiler tags.

Anquan Boldin, a wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers, won the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.

The Walter Payton Award is given the a player who has great humanitarian work in addition to having stellar performances on the American football field.

Here's a picture of him promoting friendship and goodwill.

Also, Season 6 in May! Hype.

The toy fair this year has been full of insane stuff. First off, yes, those two announcements. Secondly, CRAZY TOYS! Seriously, this is probably the biggest thing to happen to MLP merch since the first Derpy toy:

This is pretty badass. Look at Twilight, she's PISSED. Nothing says "Harmony" like "FLIPPING SOME FOOL WITH YOUR GOLDEN WINGS!" And what's more, this stuff is being marketed to boys as well!

(Bonus cosplay in that first one)

Interesting that he has the girl wonderbolt and she has the boy wonderbolt. I wonder if that was intentional.

This is a very good thing, both for society and for pony. It probably means the show will be allowed to get more awesome in the future. Plus more boys buying pony stuff means more money for pony which means more pony.
Another thing from the toy fair… Equestria Girls! With another cliched premise! Though it looks less restriced than the past movies, so maybe we'll get something a little more… worthy this time around.

"The plot of the movie is Camp Everfree closing down, and the Equestria Girls use their new abilities to throw a "crystal gala" fundraiser to save it."

One final thing. I've been cheating on you guys with the Them's Fightin' Herds Forum. I don't know how many people here care about the project, but you should consider keeping an eye on it.

Ah, so they finally created the forum. I couldn't back the crowdfund and i procrastinate so much that i can't even keep up with my pony posting schedule so there probably isn't much i can do there in the general areas.
Do they have any rules against posting content/info from the backer exclusive areas? If no, we'll need an insider to keep the TFH gallery updated.

There's no specific rule but I figured it would be best if I asked first, so I shot Mane6 a PM. If I don't get a response from them by tomorrow, and I can't reach any of the devs with individual PMs, I'll start taking the backers-only pictures and putting them in the gallery. No real harm in doing so. I won't share the text posts, and most of the stuff I do reveal will be shown off in the public livestreams anyway.

More "The Moon in the Dark" updates:

Papyrus and Sans puzzles:

-Woona meets a snowman. She greets it and it greets her back. The snowman says that it wants to see the world, so Woona takes a piece of it to fulfill the snowman's request.
-First puzzle is an invisible electric maze. Woona uses her magic to shoot magic at it, which causes the electric walls to become visible. Woona walks through the maze and to the end of it without too much trouble.
-Sans remarks about his brother's outfit, stating that it is actually Papyrus's costume that he wore at a costume party and says some tidbits about it.
-Woona meets a Nice Cream Man. She buys 20 Nice Creams from him.
-Second puzzle is a snowball puzzle. Woona rides on Sans' hoodie and steers him around to push the snowball into the hole.
-Once she reaches the end of the puzzle, a flag raises up and a message pops out. It says this: "Magic – With the help of your friends, anything becomes possible."
-Woona continues forward to solve other puzzles.

-Woona climbs out of Sans' hood and continues her way towards the next puzzle. She finds Papyrus…and Sans who mysteriously teleported next to his brother.
-Third puzzle is a Word Search paper. Woona realizes that the puzzle is rigged, as one of the words cannot be pronounced properly. Chara tells Woona how to fix the puzzle by changing one of the letters. Woona finishes the puzzle aftewards.
-Sans says that he should've used a Crosswords puzzle to challenge Woona instead. Papyrus believes that Junior Jumble is harder than Crosswords. Papyrus asks Woona to fix this dispute. She responds by saying that she prefers Crosswords since "the letters are in word order". Papyrus is happy to hear this and dashes away.
-Sans thanks Woona for cheering his brother up. He then asks why Woona prefers Crosswords instead of Junior Jumble. She says that she is still learning how to read monster runes, and that it is easier to translate them "forward or down than up, sideways, and diagonal."
-Woona enters the next area and sees a table with a plate of ice cold spaghetti on top. Next to it is a microwave. A note nearby says that the food is actually a trap set by Papyrus.
-Woona moves on and encounters a Lesser Dog. She pets it and its neck shoots upwards. Woona decides to ride on top of the dog and pets it repeatedly until its neck shoots straight up. The dog then lowers its head to the ground, allowing Woona to cross over the spikes blocking her path.
-Woona encounters Dogamy and Dogaressa. They recognize her as a dog due to the Lesser Dog's scent all over Woona. Woona pets and befriends them anyway.
-Fourth puzzle is a blue X and red O puzzle. She tries to hit the switch to change the signs, but she is too light to press it. Woona calls Sans out, and he gives her a bone to weigh her down to press the switches to solve the puzzle.
-Papyrus is disappointed that Woona has not fallen for Papyrus's spaghetti trap. Woona explains why his trap failed. So Papyrus rushes off to make a spaghetti big enough for her to swim in. Woona follows Papyrus with spaghetti in her mind.

-Fifth puzzle is the same as the fourth puzzle, except that there are a bunch of stones blocking the marks on the ground. Papyrus tells Woona that he is afraid that the puzzle may not have a standard solution. Woona tells him to throw her up to get an overhead view.
-Papyrus is apparently happy to see that Woona has a bone in her apron pocket, which she received it from Sans. He accepts Woona's request.
-Woona figures out the puzzle and approaches from the other side of it. She solves the puzzle and both Woona and Papyrus celebrates. Woona even smooches the skeleton on the cheek after telling him that he was her friend.
-Sixth puzzle is a tile puzzle. After a lengthy explanation about what the tiles mean, Papyrus throws the switch to activate the puzzle. Woona solves the puzzle after finding out that the path that the tiles created made the puzzle really easy to solve.
-Sans approaches Woona and tells her to reconsider about eating his brother's spaghetti. He describes what ingredients Papyrus uses to create spagetti (nettles and wild garlic and willow and brambles…even gorse tops and golden rod tops), but Woona starts drooling with hunger.
-Seventh puzzle is yet another X's and O's puzzle along with ice that Woona could slide on.
-Woona encounters a Gyftrot. She undecorates the decorations on its antlers and places them inside a box. She gives the box to the creature, and it happily trots away.
-Woona encounters a bunch of snow poffs. She approaches the last one that is blocking her way. It turns out it's a Greater Dog. Woona plays it for a little while before it walks away.
-Woona crosses a long bridge and finds Papyrus issuing a challenge. Sans tells his brother than scares should not be bigger than the target. Papyrus sends out a dog, which happily licks Woona's face before dashing off. Papyrus acknowledges defeat and runs away with Sans following him.

Snowdin Town and Papyrus "battle":

-Woona reaches Snowdin Town. She enters a shop and meets a bunny-like woman. The woman tells her about the various places in the Town, especially Grillby's, a library, and an inn run by the woman's sister.
-When the woman mentions about the manly bandana and the tough glove, Woona's soul starts to weaken. Chara takes control of Woona briefly and makes her leave the store.
-Chara explains that he tried to get things under control when Woona was starting to shake uncontrollably. He explains that if Woona was a monster and that she was in the store too long, her soul would be weakened to the point where she would "fall out" and die. Chara then explains that he would only gain control of Woona's body when she's in a catatonic state and her magic if Woona is low on HP.
-Woona meets "a young, gecko like, orange skinned monster in an orange and brown striped shirt, the sleeves hanging empty". He calls himself MK. The monster leaves after a short conversation.
-Woona looks around the town sees various places, but does not visit them. She tries to visit the Skeleton Bros.'s house, but it is locked. She heads east and is surrounded by fog.
-Papyrus gives a speech about the stuff he and Woona did in the previous chapters. As he finishes his speech and gets ready to fight, Woona glomps his leg and refuses to let go. Woona tells him that if Papyrus wants to capture Woona, she would surrender to him. (And Sans laughs off in the distance.)
-Papyrus tells Woona that he is a skeleton with "very high standards." Woona tells him that she can macaroni, which is like "pasghetti he can play with."
-Papyrus breaks down in tears about how nice Woona was to him and how she pretended to be a human just so that he can try and capture Woona to become a Royal Guard. Woona reminds Papyrus about how he will make a spaghetti big enough for her to swim in. So, he rushes back to his house to do just that.

Next chapter is supposed to be Woona's date with Papyrus, but I haven't read that yet. I'll post the next update when chapters 17-20 of the fanfic come out.

The Moon in the Dark has taken a very interesting turn now….

Papyrus date:

-Woona rushes back to Snowdin Town and finds Papyrus waiting for her. He leads Woona to his house.
-Woona tells a joke ("I didn't know your brother was the sort to bring a girl home on the first date!") and Sans falls back in surprise. He is not pleased with it, seeing how Chara was the one who made Woona tell the joke to him.
-Woona and Papyrus enter Papyrus's room to begin the date.
-DATING START!
-Papyrus takes out a book about how dating works. Papyrus does what the book says by pressing 'C' on his computer keyboard, but nothing happens. Apparently, the book is a dating SIM instruction manual. Woona takes care of it for Papyrus, and the figures and tables appear around them.
-Papyrus realizes that Woona was already wearing clothes-a ribbon, a cap, and an apron-before the date started. Papyrus thinks that Woona planned out the date beforehand. A Dating Meter appears, and it fills 1/3 of the way up.
-Papyrus changes his clothes with the help of special effects aided by Woona. Dating Power is now 2/3 full thanks to Woona's helpful advice about wearing stuff on a date.
-Woona smells something familiar around them. It turns out that it was a spaghetti that Papyrus secretly made for her. Woona levitates herself up using her magic, takes off Papyrus's cap off, unwraps the present on top of his head, and starts to eat the spaghetti.
-Papyrus realizes that Woona understands about his outfit's hidden power, which was supposed to be the spaghetti hidden inside his cap. Dating Power starts to overfill as Woona continues to eat Papyrus's spaghetti present.
-As Papyrus places the plate of spaghetti down, he tries to confess his love and emotions to Woona. The filly tell him that she is only four years old. Papyrus is shocked at first, but Woona tells him that she enjoys this playdate. Papyrus is relieved to hear this.

Leaving Snowdin:

-While swimming in a small pool of spaghetti made by Papyrus, the skeleton asks where Woona is from. She says that she is from the surface and that she wants to find "Daddy" (who is actually Asgore) to punish him for being a meanie pants to Toriel. Papyrus says to go see Asgore who is a "big fluffy pushover".
-Woona washes herself off and heads east and out of Snowdin. She enters a small cavernous area and sees Sans along with MK.
-MK mentions about Undyne, who is the captain of the Royal Guard. Apparently, MK wants to grow up and be like her. She also meets a red fish monster who introduces her to an echo flower.
-Woona talks to Sans, who says that he is also a sentry of the Waterfall. He takes Woona to Grillby's with him using his secret shortcut. Apparently, Woona learns how to teleport like Sans did by appearing on a bar stool as soon as Sans entered the bar. She even uses Sans' whoopie cushion prank against him.
-Woona orders two bagels much to Chara's surprise (he wants souls of the innocent). Woona eats the bagels while Sans eats ketchup.
-Sans tells that his brother is pretty determined to join the Royal Guard. Woona says that Papyrus will achieve his goals if he finds something that he wants to fight for, so that he can turn that emotional energy into power.
-Sans mentions that a certain flower whispers things to his brother. He then says that he had too many "nightmares" (which are events that no longer exist) to not believe about who the "talking flower" is.
-Woona also mentioned that the terrible nightmare she had in chapter 12 about destroying a mountain and wiping out the pony population in the process. Sans tells her to not think about it.
-Woona falls to sleep while Sans comforts her.

Waterfall:

-Woona wakes up. Sans lifts her up from his hoodie and places her on the ground. Woona continues her way from Sans' sentry post in the Waterfall.
-Woona finds a camera and makes funny faces in front it. She then enters a somewhat dark cavern and hides inside a very tall grass, where she hears two people talking to each other. Turns out they are Papyrus and Undyne.
-Papyrus gives a daily report about what happened today. He tells her about how the "human" is actually a tiny pony pretending to be one so that he can capture her and become part of the Royal Guard. He also mentions that when Sans used Dr. Alphys device to measure how powerful Woona's soul was, it was as powerful as four human souls.
-When Undyne says that she wants to capture Woona, Papyrus tells her to not kill her and take her soul. Undyne insists on doing so because of how long the monsters have been in the Underground. Papyrus tells Undyne that if she encounters Woona, she must tell her why Undyne is out to try and kill her, and that Undyne must hear the pony's words in response.
-Undyne tries to turn away, but Papyrus says, "Promise me"…without him moving his mouth. His eye glows orange briefly while he says those words. Something seems different about him…. Undyne agrees and Papyrus leaves, with Undyne shivering underneath her armor after seeing Papyrus talk to her in a haunting way.
-Woona steps out of the tall grass with MK right behind her and scaring the heck out of her. He is excited that Undyne was there moments ago and races to find her. Woona follow after MK by solving a puzzle involving the four "bridge seeds".
-Woona encounters Aaron. She tells him that she is only four-years-old when the monster behaves strangely at him. Aaron flees in response.
-Papyrus calls Woona, who "dialed every number sequentially until he got hers". He warns Woona that Undyne is looking for her and that she must avoid her as must as she can until she challenges Woona to a straight up fight. He ends the call by telling her to call him if she encounters any puzzles she cannot solve.
-Woona hangs up the phone and continues her path.

-Woona enters the Wishing Room and encounters a Woshua. She washes her hooves in Woshua's magic water and proceeds to eat her spider donut after the Woshua leaves. Woona then solves a telescope puzzle and finds a hidden door.
-Woona enters it and crosses a wooden bridge over water. She reads about the terrible war that occurred between humans and monsters based on the placards on the wall.
-As she continues forward, an energy spear nearly impales her. An armored figure starts to throw spears at Woona, and she rushes to dodge the projectiles. She then heads into a tall grass, where the figure follows her. The figure reaches out a hand…and pulls out MK from the tall grass. After the figure goes away, Woona jumps out of the tall grass on the other side to catch her breath.
-MK is happy to see Undyne and runs off in excitement. She then meets Sans, who hugs her upon Woona's request.
-Woona walks forward and meets Onion-san. She assures the octopus that she will help break the barrier to allow Onion-san to see other aquatic creatures in the ocean.
-Woona enters a chamber and encounters a Shyren. She hums and sings the MLP theme song, and Shyren follows along. She and Shyren hold a small concert with other friends with Sans selling tickets made of toilet paper after a little while. Woona and Shyren depart happily afterwards.
-Woona places an umbrella onto a statue, and it plays a music box. Chara tells Woona to head back to a chamber to make her play a piano that corresponds to the music playing in the music box.
-A door appears, and Woona encounters an empty pedestal labeled "The Legendary Artifact". A strange monster stands next to it. His skull was cracked on one side. His figure seems to be fading in and out of reality. The other parts of his body is hidden by a large black trenchcoat.
-Woona moves to the shadows so that Chara can talk with the monster named Gaster….

This story has taken an interesting turn. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how the next chapter and the other chapters afterwards will be like.

Dude.

Season 6 Episode 1 – The Crystalling Part 1

The Mane Six attend the Crystalling of Cadence and Shining Armor's new baby at the Crystal Empire; Twilight gets the chance to present Starlight with her first friendship lesson.

Season 6 Episode 2 – The Crystalling Part 2

The Mane Six scramble to save the Crystal Empire from an eternal winter; Starlight struggles after the failed reunion with her old friend.

So, Hasbro still dipping in to that Frozen money, Starburst is back (With a beard! And glasses!) and we still have no idea if Starlight is a new Mane character or not.

Actually, now that I think about it, what does being a "Mane character" actually mean? I guess it means you get more episodes dedicated to you than the average pony, but considering Starlight is clearly seperate from the Mane 6, she'll probably be featured a lot less whether she's a mane character or not. All being a Mane character really means is you get to show your pretty face in the opening credits longer than everyone else.

Also, I never got around to mentioning this, but I did get into contact with a Mane6 dev member and they said they didn't want stuff shared from the Backer Forum, so sorry. The Them's Fightin' Herds gallery will just have to do without the exclusive content.

(This animation was so cute it had to be removed from the game. No joke.)

On the one hand, I'm glad they're fully resolving the Shimmer plot. On the other, I really hope she doesn't become a main character. They already have enough trouble juggling seven (M6+Spike). Adding another will just make the issues worse--especially when the big two parters come around.

>eternal winter
Please be wendigos and not Flurry. Please be wendigos and not Flurry. Please be wendigos and not Flurry. If Flurry's responsible it's going to be a huge waste of a really cool plot. I really don't want the big two parter to be Baby Cakes 2: Electric Scootaloo.

I had almost forgotten how much shadenfreude I get from /mlp/. Thanks again, Poof Flurry.

Hello? Is there anybody here? Anyway, I'm going to give some activity around these lands by providing synopses for future episodes of season 6.

The Gift Of Maud Pie: Rarity and Pinkie Pie are in Manehattan looking for an ideal location for Rarity's new store and searching for the perfect gift for Pinkie Pie's sister.
On Your Mark: Now that they've finally received their cutie marks, the Cutie Mark Crusaders struggle with the question of what's next; the friends do not all agree on how to embrace their destinies.
Gauntlet of Fire: In order to save his friends, Spike is forced to compete in a perilous Gauntlet for the title of Dragon Lord.

Rarity as a businesspony? Seems interesting. Hope they get a nice-looking rock for Maud.

Yes, I've been waiting for this. I am eager to see what new stuff the CMC will do now that they have their cutie marks.

I'm hoping it'll be a good Spike episode. There has not been a lot of good Spike episodes in the series.

Title for S06E06 has been revealed, but the synopsis is unknown.

Anyways, I'm also going to post the chapter updates for "The Moon in the Dark".

Note: Chapter 21's a complex chapter, so I tried my best to interpret what the chapter was saying.

-Through Woona's voice, Chara explains that he is here, because Woona is on a mission to reunite Chara's family.
-Gaster tells a little bit about himself and about how he used to serve King Asgore. He then tells them about Determination and how monsters are not able to handle much of it, since their bodies are not made of physical matter. Under Asgore's request, he created an artifact that can prevent their bodies from falling apart due to abundant amount of Determination.
-The artifact is called a SOULSTONE, AKA the Legendary Artifact. It is also the artifact that Woona is currently wearing, which she obtained from the mysterious white dog in chapter 7.
-Gaster then tells the duo that he tried to seal the Legendary Artifact underground so that no human can find about its power. Unfortunately, humans still found about it and started to hate the Monsters due to its sheer power. Because Gaster was the one who brought war upon the humans and the Monsters, he tried to create Resets to undo the mistakes he has done.
-But due to the dangers of Resets, Gaster "slipped back through the cracks in time his tinkering left behind". He created Papyrus and Sans to prevent Monsters from misusing Resets like he did.
-Papyrus was supposed to be the protector of time, with his bone made of pure Determination. Sans was also created as the manifestation of the last spark of Hope, and his true powers are brought to life only if no other Monsters are present.
-After the conversation, Woona realizes that the Mysterious Torc she started to wear in chapter 7 is super important, and the Sans and Papyrus are really good friends to have.
-She reaches out to the Torc with her magic, and finds that it is filled with Determination.

-As Woona walks through the rainy chamber with an umbrella, she asks Chara about where the rain comes from. Chara does not answer. Woona walks over to a puddle to see Chara laughing in the reflection. Woona tells the reflection that his eyes are brown. Chara disappears afterwards in embarassment.
-Woona spots MK, and they both walk through the rain together. Woona asks how the Underground gets rain, and MK says that it is due to the stalactites from the cavern ceiling that receives water from the surface. He also mentions that he tries to study as best as possible in order to become a Royal Guard like Undyne.
-Woona and MK reaches a vista that shows the view of a massive castle. Then, they both reach a high ledge where she puts the umbrella away. MK helps Woona up on the high ledge and leaves, saying that he "always finds a way through."
-Woona approaches a large, wooden bridge and crosses it. She is attacked by Undyne again. Woona tries to escape with Chara's help. Woona sees a strange image inside Chara's mind while running. It's Flowey wearing a slinky black dress, and Asgore as a dragon with a key around his neck.
-Woona reaches a dead end. Chara tells Woona to jump into the black void below with only her soul surrounded by grey fog that represents Chara's spirit (it used to be black earlier in the story) to light up what's around her.

-While Woona falls into the abyss, she hears a voice out of nowhere. As soon as she opens her eyes, she wakes up to find herself on top of a batch of golden flowers.
-Chara tells Woona to use her magic to walk across the water. She passes a bunch of garbage and sees a training dummy. Instead of beating it up, she uses her magic and fixes it up using the art supplies she packed with her in her bag.
-The dummy comes to life and is proud that it is fixed. The Glad Dummy tells Woona about where to go from where Woona is located at. She can visit Napstablook's house, Gerson's shop, or the Temmies.
-Woona enters Napstablook's house. She finds the ghost and hugs him immediately. Napstablook tells Woona about ghost food, and Woona is amused by it. According to the ghost, ghost food is obtained from heartburn.
-Woona listens to one of the three music made by Napstablook. She then decides to lie down on the ground with the ghost and feels slipping away from the world, as if she was surrounded by the universe.

-Woona wakes up and finds that Napstablook is gone to take care of the snail farm to the east of his house. She decides to not visit the farm due to her awkward knowledge about how snails are used as food thanks to Toriel.
-Woona heads south and to the east, where she meets an old turtle named Gerson. She tells him her mission about how she wants Mommy and Daddy back together. He tells her that if she somehow gets Toriel and Asgore back together, he will tell a story about the king when Woona returns. Gerson then tells Woona to go away and not come back, since he does not want to "get involved" with the Queen and the King again.
-Woona finds more placards regarding the war about humans and Monsters. She makes her way along the mossy path while lighting the path up with glowing mushrooms. Realizing that it is the way to the Temmie Village, she continues down the path and runs into a Temmie.
-Both Woona and Temmie hug each other. Temmie takes Woona to the Tem Village, where she meets the Temmies in the area along with one Temmie named Bob.
-Woona visits the Tem Shop. When she asks the Temmie Shopkeeper about the history of Temmies, the shopkeeper says that they have a "DEEP HISTORY." Woona finds the obscure joke amusing, while Chara is confused.
-Woona gives the shopkeeper 8000G, so that all of the Temmies can go to "cooleg". The Temmies depart (with their facial expressions remaining behind) and return with a box of Super Tem Flakes, which never runs out.
-Woona finds a Temmie watching an egg. Woona comforts the egg and uses the Soulstone combined with her magic and Temmie magic to hatch the egg (even though it's hard-boiled). A small Temmie pops out of the egg. It has a pair of wings and a horn.
-IT'S PRINCESS TEMMIE! WOONA IS NOW FILLED WITH DETEMMIENATION!

SO I hear about a trademark for "Guardians of Harmony" that sees to be the same as the Equestria Girls one. I want to know what you guys think about that as a potential spinoff series.

I get the feeling episode five's going to sink a lot of headcanons. It'll be Griffinstone all over again.

…as a potential spinoff series.

It's interesting, as long as it's not something ridiculous and poorly executed like EqG was. I get the feeling it might be Hasbro attempting to rake in the boy demo with action/adventure--which I'd be all for, provided they stick to Equestria and not make everyone robots or something (insert Sweetie Bot joke here).

I thought Guardians of Harmony only applied to the toyline featuring the more "action themed" My Little Pony figures as shown here

I mean I could be wrong but I could've sworn Guardians of Harmony was just this action figure like toyline. Seems pretty weird to make a spin-off that's nothing more than a more Action Themed My Little Pony show……Although…..

I Brought up here because as I already mentioned, its trademark is the same as that of Equestria Girls. That precedent >implies that Hasbro might be considering another animated spinoff at least

The subplot that became part of the main plot was pretty good. I think Starlight will make for a kind of Sunset Shimmer dynamic. She's smart, very capable with magic (maybe moreso than Twilight,) and is still a little bit mischievous.

Wow, I like the Spike/Starlight dynamic. New pupil of Twilight's and old assistant of Twilight's banding together in an attempt to better understand Twilight. Plus Starlight and Sunburst have a nice dynamic too. I ship it, as should everyone. I cared more about the Starlight plot than the main plot.

I kinda wish they gave the baby a bit more than just "Baby." Maybe I'm asking too much of a baby, but if you're going to have them be behind the destruction of every single important item in the episode, you kinda gotta give us something to latch onto as well.

Also… "The birth of an Alicorn is something Equestria has never seen!"
Wait… hang on…

Does this mean Celestia and Luna were NOT born Alicorns? Does this mean that Twilight is on the same level as they are? DOES THIS MEAN SHE AND CADANCE WILL ALSO LIVE IMMORTAL LIVES?! GUYS THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!

…Or maybe it just means Celestia and Luna weren't born in Equestria. Yeah, let's go with that.

5/10. It just didn't have the plot for a two-parter. I think they really made a mistake making it one instead of just doing two separate episodes dealing with each plot. The SoL feel of the episode really conflicted with the desperate attempts to inject some action (flying in a storm and shooting clouds). Worst two-parter so far.

But who knows.

A changeling child was believed to be a fairy child that had been left in place of a human child stolen by the fairies.

It might have a big payoff come season finale time.

Well done, Josh Haber. You impressed me with the season 5 finale, and you have impressed me again with the season 6 opener. I have mentioned this before, but I love the distribution of the roles of the ponies in "The Crystalling". None of the ponies were left out and had suitable roles based on the situation.

-Spike and Starlight goes off to see Sunburst and try and be friends again. I like how Spike reached out to Starlight when she was nervous about what she was going to do in the Crystal Empire. It helped calm down Starlight a bit without Twilight constantly watching over her.
-Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Fluttershy trying to take care of the crystal pony audience and helping them evacuate before Starlight, Spike, and Sunburst appeared.
-Twilight, Cadance, Shining Armor, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity trying to either take care of the baby or finding the way to restore the crystal heart.
-Celestia and Luna tries to fend off the storm to buy them some time. There's a brief scene where Rainbow Dash tries to fend off the storm herself, but her wing freezes as soon as she flies past the clouds. This confirms the fact that Rainbow was not cut out for the job despite her eagerness to try and stop the clouds herself.

Overall, this was a solid opener and a great way to open up the newest season of MLP.

I have a lot of thoughts, but I'll just keep it short. The S5 finale was the biggest thing in MLP ever. This premiere was a bit of a far cry from that epicness, but I honestly had a good time. The spotlight on Starlight was very nice. The world building in this episode was phenomenal. 8.5/10

From what I recall of the Journal of the Two Sisters, (written by the beloved AKR,) Celestia and Luna are born alicorns, found some time after the foundation of Equestria by the Unicorn Kings' men and have been put under the tutelage of Starswirl the Bearded as their alicorn-ness is very symbolic of the unity of all three tribes.

There also seems to be a wealth of alicorn knowledge and scrolls or smth that Celestia and Luna can access

Here are the new fanfics I have read or finished reading:

What's Your Story, Morning Glory?- Story about a young earth pony named Morning Glory who travels to Canterlot to become Luna's protege. Story was cancelled due to the drama regarding the shift in the story.

The Most Annoying House Guest- A bonus chapter was added, with Rainbow Dash giving a young bat pony a bath.

Any Last Requests?- Discord is dying after Celestia gives him a kick to the shin. Before his death, Discord gives a bunch of ridiculous requests for the ponies to complete.

Binary Suns- Celestia wakes up to find that she has a clone of herself who has her exact looks, personalities, and memories.

Tantabus, Mk. II- Luna creates a new version of Tantibus that can create good dreams. She decides to let the Tantibus explore other dreams, change them, and create new ones to see whether the Tantibus is harmless or not.

Constants- Filly Twilight feels homesick, and Celestia decides to help her young student out.

Sister Standoff- Celestia wants to eat cake, but Luna wants her sister to exercise to lose weight.

And here are the updates for "The Moon in the Dark".

-Woona decides to leave Princess Temmie with the other Temmies, since she's too young to wander around the Underground.
-Chara mentions that Woona is low on money after giving the Temmies gold for "cooleg". Woona says that she has infinite Temmie Flakes for food, SOULSTONE, ribbon, Cartographer's Map, and cape for armor. As Woona crosses a pool of water, she reaches the dead end with an Echo flower, where Undyne traps the pony in the corner.
-Undyne starts to approach, but MK pops out of the tall grass. Undyne is disappointed that MK interrupted her, so she drags him off.
-Woona backtracks to the pool of water and finds a path to the north. She sees a placard at the end, which states that there was a Prophecy that an Angel who had seen the surface would free the Monsters from the Underground.
-Woona crosses a narrow bridge, where MK rushes up behind her. When MK finds out that Woona is from the surface, he turns sad, thinking that everything bad comes from the surface. MK turns to head home and slips off the bridge. Woona grabs ahold of him with her magic and pulls him back up.
-When Undyne threatens to hurt Woona, MK stands between her and Woona while Undyne scans MK's STAT (100 HP, 2 ATK, 2 DEF). When MK tells Undyne to not hurt his new friend, Undyne realizes that MK is drawing Determination during that moment. Undyne checks MK's updated stats: 86 HP, 75 ATK, 309 DEF. Undyne backs away, realizing that MK is not to be messed with.
-Woona is overjoyed to find that MK was there to protect her from Undyne. She hugs MK and calls him a brave knight. MK turns and runs back home while Woona continues her journey.

-Woona turns east to find a mountain with a cave in the center. (Mountain inside a mountain?) Undyne is standing on top of it.
-As Undyne is about to tell the story of the Monster living Underground, Woona tells Undyne to tell the story during the fight.
-BATTLE START!
-As Woona defends herself from Undyne's spears, Undyne tells the story about how the Monsters need Woona's soul in order to break the barrier. Woona is sorrowful when she hears this and proceeds to drop her defenses.
-Chara tells Woona that if she gives up, Woona's Determination will drop, and Chara will not be able to save Woona by resetting. Woona insists, and she spreads out her body to let Undyne deliver the finishing blow on her.
-As Undyne gets ready to strike Woona down, Woona tells Undyne to do the following requests after she takes Woona's soul. The requests are:

Go to Temmie Village and tell Princess Temmie that Woona is not coming home.
Tell Gerson that she will not be able to come back and hear the story about "King Fluffybuns".
Tell Napstablook that she cannot visit him at work.
Tell Shyren that they cannot do a reunion tour.
Tell Papyrus that she won't be able to make macaroni with him.
Tell Sans that they cannot hang out again.
Make Undyne take the snowman piece around to see the world.
Lead the spiders back to their home.
Tell Toriel that Woona was not able to reunite her family again.

-Overwhelmed by Woona's pleas, Undyne hurls her spear…and hits the wall next to Woona. Undyne sinks to her knees and cries, unable to accomplish her task.
-Woona gets closer to Undyne and hugs her leg to comfort her.

-Undyne finishes crying and looks around to find Woona, only to see the filly sleeping in her embrace. She decides to take Woona to her house, where she places the sleeping pony in her bed. She then proceeds to call Asgore for her daily report.
-During the conversation between the King and the captain, Undyne says that she has failed as the Captain of the Royal Guard because she did not want to betray her friends by taking Woona's soul.
-Asgore states that what Undyne did was a correct thing to do. He says that "the order of who you serve in both oaths is an order of priority." This means that the Captain must put the well being of the people before the well being of the Kingdom and before the King's orders.
-Asgore further explains that a mad King is worse than humans; monsters are full of magic, but a King's soul warped by insanity can lead to deadly consequences. Undyne was to become the Captain because of her ability to take down Asgore during her training. And if Asgore were to fall under madness, Undyne would be the one to free him.
-As the conversation progresses, Asgore starts to hyperventilate and lose his emotions as he tearfully recalls his memories of killing six innocent children to take their souls. Undyne calls out to her King, and Asgore manages to regain control of himself.
-(Apparently, the chapter mentions that Gerson is the only one who knows the names of the six fallen humans, and Asgore refers the six human souls by the colors of their gemstones.)
-Undyne hangs up the phone, realizing that if Asgore absorbs the souls killed by his own hands, he would turn into a mad god and would become destructive and unpredictable. She decides that it would be better for the Monsters to stay underground and that Woona must return home safely at all costs.
-Undyne decides to change her ways by making friends…Undyne style!

-Woona wakes up. Chara angrily talks to her about her willingness to be sacrificed to Undyne and that he expected much better from Woona.
-Undyne spots Woona in the kitchen. When Woona says that she wants be friends with her, Undyne says that they will become "besties" instead.
-"Friends is not enough! If I am to have my revenge upon you for this humiliation, I must make you like me so much that we become 'besties'! Then you will be the one humiliated!"
-When Woona tells Undyne that she is a pony with high standards, Undyne counters by saying that she is friends with Papyrus. "Oh no, you're meeting all of my standards!" Woona responds.
-Woona takes a seat at the table while Undyne takes out several items out of the fridge to get them something to drink. When Woona tries to get up, Undyne throws a spear at the table and tells her not to get up.
-Undyne tells Woona to use the spear to point at what she wants. Chara suggests that Woona should point the spear at Undyne. Woona does so, and Undyne reacts with a confused expression on her face.
-Woona points the spear at the tea. Undyne prepares tea while Woona asks about why there aren't a lot of things in her house. Undyne says that she tends to break things a lot, so she leaves most of her items to Alphys, a royal scientist and her friend.
-After Undyne talks about her past and how she became a captain of the royal guard by defeating Asgore, she gets a phone call from Papyrus, saying that he can't cook spaghetti with her. So Undyne teaches Woona how to make spaghetti.
-When Undyne tells Woona to mash the vegetables as if they were her greatest enemy, she uses her magic and destroys them instead. Then, Woona leaps into the air and dunks a large box of noodles onto the pot full of water. She then uses Undyne's spear and pokes at the pot's contents repeatedly until ingredients start to fall out. Finally, Woona uses her fire magic to cook the contents inside the pot until there was a huge flame in front of her.
-And then the house explodes.
-A smoldering crater is all that remains of Undyne's house. As Undyne tries to lecture Woona about controlling her magic, a plate lands on her hand, followed by the perfectly cooked spaghetti ingredients on top of it. Turns out that the disastrous cooking session yielded positive results after all.
-Undyne runs off to show the spaghetti to Papyrus while Woona cheers with joy.

Also, Letters from an Irritated Princess is back thanks to the season 6 opener.

Oh, forgot to say something about the premiere. Good Premiere, Princess Sky-lurry Heart was adorably fun and I liked the "twist" with Starlight's friend. Also, Starlight.

The current episode however thoroughly enjoyed it. Really really liked it and is another example as to why I think Rarity is funniest pone. 8/10.

It was a really good episode. The beginning of this season feels a lot better. I feel like it's not just a show of funny faces, jokes, gags, and cuteness. All three feel pretty well-paced, tap into the characters really well without turning them into caricatures of themselves, and it feels distinctly "grown-up" in the sense that the show is evolving and how the nature of the episodes change by the season, it seems.

At first, I thought the gag sequence with the party cannon going off at every opportunity was getting played out quickly. But in case you didn't watch the show until now, it actually made sense to make a point (in a giggle-worthy manner) of how much the party cannon is a part of Pinkie's social repertoire…before providing the choice to Pinkie sell it for the pouch…after showing how much Pinkie wanted to get Maud a gift she'd really like.

And then not just throwing Rarity's trip and reason for going to Manehattan away, even making it a part of the party cannon gag sequence and returning to it at the end of the episode. It was a really well-wrapped episode. Felt like professional work.

And there was some great visual gags and memes that were thrown in without stopping the flow of the episode or feeling forced.

The scepter will never die.
