That House of Horrors match though⊠it was incredibly stupid and really badâŠ
Well, looks like I only got one of my predictions right. Anyways, Payback was alright. First hour started strong, but the House of Horrors match seemed to have killed the audience for the rest of the show, at least until the main event. All the matches were, at the very least, pretty good, but for me MOTN goes to Bayley/Alexa Bliss; the massive pop Bayley got at her hometown might've helped with that.
Pretty good main event match. Roman was actually selling pretty good for once, or rather was more consistent with his selling than he usually is. Also I'm a bit surprised The Big Dawg didn't finish the show on top, but I'm pretty satisfied with that PPV ending.
Payback was ok IMO, not standout but not bad either.
- The Cruisers were actually getting some good reactions and the match was pretty good. Aries is consistently entertaining and so charismatic, I'm glad they're running with him as the leading face for a bit longer against Neville.
- Interesting choice with Sheasaro's result. I'll wait to see how it plays out before passing judgement
- House of Horrors was shit, but the sort of shit that is entertaining to watch. I like that they at least utilised Jinder.
- Alexa/Bayley was a pleasant surprise, I wasn't expecting the ring work to be that good
- Braun/Roman was IMO excellent, Roman's selling was superb and everything about Braun was entertaining. It feels like a natural progression to have Braun start main eventing PPVs now and he feels like a bona fide monster. Good stuff.
"Every Horror Trope ever" The Match
Alright, we got another wrestling weekend coming up, with NXT Takeover: Chicago and Backlash. Gonna start with Takeover predictions first. Winners listed in bold:
NXT Takeover: Chicago
WWE Backlash
NXT Takeover: Chicago
WWE Backlash
PREDICTIONS TIME
Winners in bold as has become the norm
Takeover
Backlash
Predictions circled in red.
Here are my Predictions
Tye Dillinger vs. Aiden English
Randy Orton vs. Jinder Mahal (i really hope he wins)
The Usos vs. Breezango (Breezango needs to win. This gimmick is just awesome)
Kevin Owens vs. AJ Styles
Naomi, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch vs. The Welcoming Committee
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Dolph Ziggler
Baron Corbin vs. Sami Zayn
Luke Harper vs. Erick Rowan
Huh, only got one wrong. Regardless, great Takeover, many emotions were sparked, particularly at the end of the show. The UK match was absolutely fantastic and easily MOTN. The NXT Championship match and the Tag Title ladder match were also great. I'm quite surprised at the lack of CM Punk chants; when they started to emerge, they were immediately shot down, which I think is great of the Chicago crowd.
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT JUST HAPPENED?!!!!!!!!!!
THE ABSOLUTE MADMEN THEY DID IT THOSE MAGNIFICENT BASTARDS THEY ACTUALLY FUCKING DID IT
We memed Jinder into the WWE championship
Decent PPV, thrilled by the balls on WWE's booking.
Sami landed a win over backstage fave Corbin as well, so that was pretty nice.

Alright, another WWE PPV this Sunday, another predictions post. Winners will be in bold:
WWE Extreme Rules
I think management's too high on Neville to take the belt away from him at this time, so I'm thinking he keeps it till Summerslam.
Kinda hope that Miz gets back his IC title. I think he'll find some clever way to cheat Ambrose out of a win.
Yeeeeeaaaaah⊠after that awful "This is Your Life" segment that basically shit all over Bayley (and to some degree Bliss too), Bayley's not getting that title back.
After that segment last Monday (or two weeks ago, I can't recall) with Heyman and Balor, I'm confident in Balor in winning the match. If he does win, I hope they just don't build this like a regular Bork match.
Am i the only one here with a Fantasy Wrestling promotion?
Let's do this?

@Neko I personally never got into e-fedding myself, but I used to RP a little using the video games when I was younger. My OCs had long and storied histories, I used to keep spreadsheets of their movesets and everything lol.
EXTREME predictions
And then onwards ⊠to Great Balls of Fire!
Alright, so Mildly Extreme Rules was fairly decent, and I did end up liking it more than Backlash to be completely honest. Most of the matches were pretty good, with the main event in particular being the MOTN. The only match I considered bad was the Women's "Kendo Stick on a Pole" Match, which wasn't necessarily bad per se, but it was awfully short and a prime example of RAW's terrible booking. I'm fine with Alexa Bliss retaining, as I'm a fan of her, but I'm also a fan of Bayley, and by god has her booking been awful in the last few months. She's booked like a total chump, not like some relatable underdog. The "This is Your Life" segment last Monday didn't do any favors for Bayley, and neither did this match.
Why the fuck is WWE wasting a talent like Apollo Crews? for fucks sakes

BIG BANTER IN THE BANK
So, Money in the Bank, eh? Decent PPV, all the matches were at the very least alright. Some folks question some of the booking done tonight, but I'm fine with it. One match did feel particularly unnecessary, and easily could've taken place in a throwaway Smackdown episode. MOTN was the main event: great match, lots of cool ladder spots, and some outright fanservice with teases of potential, exciting feuds. So yeah, that was my short rundown of MitB; again, a decent PPV overall, no real bad matches or bad booking, but your typical WWE PPV. Guess there's Great Balls of Fire to look forward to next.
What a stinker of a PPV until the main event. The show opened with 4 fuck finishes in a row! It was just too much. I would've been fine with the Ellsworth booking (and indeed I popped hard for that) if there had been a decisive finish in the great tag match. After that it was just fuckery after fuckery. Too much heeling.
Lmao there's a fair bit of rage over the Ellsworth thing. Of course the villainous female used a man to win; a face female wouldn't have. That's the point lol.
All's worth and Ellsworth.

I'm going over to the side that the heat it generates is at the company and not Carmellsworth. Such an awful booking decision after the hype makes me not wanna tune in rather than see how the story develops.
to give this thread more life
When do you started watching wrestling?
Me was in Summer 2007
every Saturday a horrible cutted version of Smackdown on german TV
but it was still great
Winter 2005. Badly cutted episode of Raw.
It was still awesome
First time I started watching wrestling was probably late 2010 or early 2011. Back then it was my little brother who was watching it, and I, like many doubters of pro wrestling, thought it was all stupid. And yet, I actually started to watch with my brother and become more invested into it (without telling him of course). Though my memory of those years are somewhat hazy, I do remember Punk dropping the pipe bomb, and even earlier Edge's retirement. But, as 2011 went by, both my brother and I stopped watching. It wouldn't be until early 2016 that I decide to try and get into wrestling again, only this time, I was going all out on it. And here I am, a pro wrestling fan.
Summer of 2008, a bit before the build up to SummerSlam. I stopped in June of July of the following year.
Then in October of last year I got into it again thanks to Eglamore, Patrician and Space Cowboy as they would discuss about wrestling all the time.
i update my post
i watched from 2007 â 2011 because it was removed from tv and replaced with TNA then in 2014 i restarted watching before WM30
Alright, two things in this post. First, gonna briefly talk about the US G1 Special New Japan had at Long Beach. I know a couple users went to the two-night show live, and I'm absolutely jealous at them and also mad at myself for not getting the tickets on time, but whatever. The shows were fantastic. Day Two probably had the best match from Kenny Omega and Tomohiro Ishii. I do hope New Japan succeeds in their US expansion. And I hope next time they come back to the States, I get tickets on time.
Next, about the upcoming WWE PPV:
I think they changed the logo awhile ago, but I do kinda miss the obvious phallic imagery.
Anyways, since GREAT BALLS OF FIIIIIIIIIIIRE is this Sunday, it's time for predictions. Winners marked in bold:

Alright, so two things:
The G1 Climax has been a thing for the past few days, and I just wanted to remind everyone that if you have the chance each day of the tournament, I suggest you should, as the matches have been great. For example, the match Kenny Omega had with Minoru Suzuki was fantastic. I've still got some catching-up to do, but if you're all caught up, I believe Day 5 is or was today. If you want to see some quality matches, check out New Japan's G1 Climax shows.
Next, WWE Battleground. The PPV's tomorrow, so I think it's about time for predictions. Once again, winners are marked in bold:
