That House of Horrors match though
it was incredibly stupid and really bad

in a good way. I was sports entertained by that whole match. The first half of the match, the filmed fight in the house, really reminded me of The Final Deletion. Wasn't as fun as Final Deletion, but pretty fun regardless. Can't see the arena crowd liking the match though.

Well, looks like I only got one of my predictions right. Anyways, Payback was alright. First hour started strong, but the House of Horrors match seemed to have killed the audience for the rest of the show, at least until the main event. All the matches were, at the very least, pretty good, but for me MOTN goes to Bayley/Alexa Bliss; the massive pop Bayley got at her hometown might've helped with that.

Pretty good main event match. Roman was actually selling pretty good for once, or rather was more consistent with his selling than he usually is. Also I'm a bit surprised The Big Dawg didn't finish the show on top, but I'm pretty satisfied with that PPV ending.

Payback was ok IMO, not standout but not bad either.

- The Cruisers were actually getting some good reactions and the match was pretty good. Aries is consistently entertaining and so charismatic, I'm glad they're running with him as the leading face for a bit longer against Neville.
- Interesting choice with Sheasaro's result. I'll wait to see how it plays out before passing judgement
- House of Horrors was shit, but the sort of shit that is entertaining to watch. I like that they at least utilised Jinder.
- Alexa/Bayley was a pleasant surprise, I wasn't expecting the ring work to be that good
- Braun/Roman was IMO excellent, Roman's selling was superb and everything about Braun was entertaining. It feels like a natural progression to have Braun start main eventing PPVs now and he feels like a bona fide monster. Good stuff.

Alright, we got another wrestling weekend coming up, with NXT Takeover: Chicago and Backlash. Gonna start with Takeover predictions first. Winners listed in bold:

NXT Takeover: Chicago

  • Roderick Strong vs Eric Young
I'm expecting interference from the other members of SAnitY, so my money's on EY.
  • Tyler Bate © vs Pete Dunne (UK Title)
Bruiserweight goin' over. Lookin' forward to JR's commentary for this match.
  • Authors of Pain © vs DIY (NXT Tag Titles, Ladder Match)
  • Asuka © vs Ruby Riot vs Nikki Cross (NXT Women's Title, Triple Threat)
I don't think Asuka's losing her crown anytime soon; either Ember Moon's gonna be the one to dethrone her, or maybe someone else in the future like Io Shirai.
  • The Glorious Bobby Roode © vs Hideo Itami (NXT Title)
Hideo's been having a pretty good comeback lately, but I don't see him gaining the title from Roode anytime soon. Perhaps at the next Takeover, but not this Saturday. Also I'm gonna expect some CM Punk chants when Hideo goes for a GTS.

WWE Backlash

  • Tye Dillinger vs Aiden English (pre-show)
  • Luke Harper vs Erick Rowan
  • Sami Zayn vs Baron Corbin
  • Charlotte/Naomi/Becky Lynch vs The Welcoming Committee
  • The Usos © vs Chet Chetterfield and Mr. Mackelroy (SDL Tag Titles)
It's great that Breezango's getting a push, but I don't see them beating the Uggos. I kinda expect New Day to dethrone them once they arrive.
  • Shinsuke Nakamura vs Dolph Ziggler
Since it's Shinsuke's debut match, I fully expect him to win. I'd be surprised if Dolph were to win somehow, and I think that would give him some much needed heel heat.
  • Kevin Owens © vs AJ Styles (US Title)
As much as I love AJ, he ain't getting that US title 'til maybe Money in the Bank or whatever the next SDL PPV is.
  • Randy Orton © vs The Maharaja Jinder Mahal (WWE Title)
I expect Orton to win this, though I'll be laughing my ass off if Jinder picked up the win. Imagine the heat he'll get from beating Orton. Either way, regardless of the winner, I think we'll get a solid midcard heel out of Jinder following Backlash.

NXT Takeover: Chicago

  • Roderick Strong vs Eric Young: Why are Sanity such chumps
  • Tyler Bate © vs Pete Dunne (UK Title): My mind says Dunne but my heart says Bate,he will eventualy drop it to Dunne but I would like his reign to be a tad longer now that the UK show is happening.
  • Authors of Pain © vs DIY (NXT Tag Titles, Ladder Match): I don't think DIY will ever get back the title, they either split up before it happens or get into the main roster. I think Heavy Machinery will be the ones taking it off from the AoP.
  • Asuka © vs Ruby Riot vs Nikki Cross (NXT Women’s Title, Triple Threat): Asuka's demise is incoming, but won't come from Riot or Cross. She either drops it to Moon or Hojo (depending on what the tournament reward is).
  • The Gorgeous and Glorious Bobby Roode © vs Japanese CM Punk, KENTA (NXT Title): I want to believe. Just because I feel bad about Itami's bad luck regarding injuries and I want Roode asap on the MR (ffs he's 39 and I want to see Haitch Jr. not handicapping himself on the developmental brand).

WWE Backlash

  • Tye Dillinger vs Aiden English (pre-show)
  • Luke Harper vs Erick Rowan
  • Sami Zayn vs Baron Corbin
  • Charlotte/Naomi/Becky Lynch vs The Welcoming Committee: Unrelated note I want the Committee to be to Carmella what Nation of Domination was for The Rock, she has pretty good mic skills that could get to use.
  • The Uggos © vs Fashion Police (SDL Tag Titles): I'm happy enough with Breezango having TV time.
  • Shinsuke Nakamura vs Dolph Ziggler: Easy bet of the night
  • Kevin Owens © vs AJ Styles (US Title): AJ will probs get it by MitB, no need to rush it.
  • Randy Orton © vs The Maharaja, Big Poppa Punjabi, Jinder Mahal (WWE Title): I want to believe again. If he wins (on Chicago from all places) it's going to be a gorgeous trainwreck in the ICW. Sadly Randy will retain

PREDICTIONS TIME
Winners in bold as has become the norm

Takeover

  • Roddy vs Young
  • Dunne vs Bate © (UK Title)
  • DIY vs AoP © (NXT Tag Title)
  • Ruby vs Nikki vs Asuka © (NXT Women's Title)
  • Itami vs Roode © (NXT Title)

Backlash

  • Dillinger vs English
  • Harper vs Rowan – it's Big Red's time
  • Zayn vs Corbin
  • Charlotte, Naomi & Becky vs The Welcoming Committee
  • Breezango to fabulously destroy the Uggos © (SD Tag Title)
  • Nakamura vs Ziggler – easiest call in a while lolololololol
  • Styles versus Owens © (US Title)
  • Fuck it, I'm going all in. JINDER MAHAL WILL WIN THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP, INCLUDE ME IN THE SCREENCAP, 1V1 ME IRL, AND GIVE REDDIT GOLD.

Here are my Predictions
Tye Dillinger vs. Aiden English
Randy Orton vs. Jinder Mahal (i really hope he wins)
The Usos vs. Breezango (Breezango needs to win. This gimmick is just awesome)
Kevin Owens vs. AJ Styles
Naomi, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch vs. The Welcoming Committee
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Dolph Ziggler
Baron Corbin vs. Sami Zayn
Luke Harper vs. Erick Rowan

Huh, only got one wrong. Regardless, great Takeover, many emotions were sparked, particularly at the end of the show. The UK match was absolutely fantastic and easily MOTN. The NXT Championship match and the Tag Title ladder match were also great. I'm quite surprised at the lack of CM Punk chants; when they started to emerge, they were immediately shot down, which I think is great of the Chicago crowd.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT JUST HAPPENED?!!!!!!!!!!

THE ABSOLUTE MADMEN THEY DID IT THOSE MAGNIFICENT BASTARDS THEY ACTUALLY FUCKING DID IT

Overall, it was an ok PPV. Shinsuke's big debut didn't feel very big: decent match but nothing special. Waste of a build. Tag Title match was really fun. Women's Tag Match was something we could've seen on a regular Smackdown. AJ/KO match was good, though its slow pacing throughout and the anti-climactic (but also unique and creative) finish soured the crowd. There were several insane spots though: the Avalanche Fireman's Carry Driver or whatever move KO used on AJ from the top turnbuckle was great. Harper/Rowan was alright. And I missed the pre-show match cuz I was sorta busy.

The main event though

FUCKING
SHOCKING

The match was honestly better than expected, which isn't really saying much because it's easily a match we could've seen on a regular Smackdown show. It surprisingly started with some good momentum, with Randy showing fire and beating up Jinder before the match even started. The later table spots where Randy tossed each of the Singh Brothers was great, and props to those two for their selling. The finish though
THE MAHARAJA ACTUALLY DID IT HE WON THE FUCKING TITLE BAH GAWD!!!!!!!!

So yeah, ok PPV I guess. Probably the worst WWE PPV I've seen in a while though.
Last edited May 21, 2017 at 11:16PM EDT

Decent PPV, thrilled by the balls on WWE's booking.

Sami landed a win over backstage fave Corbin as well, so that was pretty nice.

Alright, another WWE PPV this Sunday, another predictions post. Winners will be in bold:

WWE Extreme Rules

  • Sasha Banks & Rich Swann vs. Noam Dar & _ALEEESHUH FAAAAAAAAAWKS
  • Neville© vs. Austin Aries (Cruiserweight Title, Submission Match)

I think management's too high on Neville to take the belt away from him at this time, so I'm thinking he keeps it till Summerslam.

  • The Not So Broken Hardyz© vs. Shesaro (RAW Tag Team Titles, Steel Cage Match)
  • Dean Ambrose© vs. The Miz (Intercontinental Title, No Champ's Advantage: Champ loses title if disqualified)

Kinda hope that Miz gets back his IC title. I think he'll find some clever way to cheat Ambrose out of a win.

  • Alexa Bliss© vs. Bayley (RAW Women's Title, Kendo Stick on a Pole)

Yeeeeeaaaaah
after that awful "This is Your Life" segment that basically shit all over Bayley (and to some degree Bliss too), Bayley's not getting that title back.

  • Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe (No. 1 Contender's Match for Universal Title, Fatal 5-Way)

After that segment last Monday (or two weeks ago, I can't recall) with Heyman and Balor, I'm confident in Balor in winning the match. If he does win, I hope they just don't build this like a regular Bork match.

Last edited Jun 01, 2017 at 02:32PM EDT

Let's do this?

  • Sasha Banks & Rich Swann vs. Noam Dar & _ALEEESHUH FAAAAAAAAAWKS
  • Neville© vs. Austin Aries (Cruiserweight Title, Submission Match): Wild prediction, Metalik wins at SummerSlam.
  • Hardyz© vs. Shesaro (RAW Tag Team Titles, Steel Cage Match): With all the momentum they've gotten, I can see Shesaro winning this. I hope we get Broken really soon.
  • "Lunatic Cringe" Dean Ambrose© vs. The Miz (Intercontinental Title, No Champ’s Advantage: Champ loses title if disqualified):On one hand, this stipulation is stupid, but on the other I wanna see Miz back with the Intercontinental title. I would like to see Miz winning when the match starts and Angle making a NHB match (but it won't happen and we'll have 20 minutes of Dean and Miz figthing with Maryse not even trying to disqualify Dean).
  • Alexa Bliss© vs. Bayley (RAW Women’s Title, Dildo on a Pole):Let's be real, if Bayley doesn't win here she should hang up the boots because her career will be dead, she looked like a chump in last week's segment (and basically all the buildup for this match). Besides I think they shouldn't have put the title on Blissfu yet #MickieJames4Champ.
  • Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe (No. 1 Contender’s Match for Universal Title, Fatal 5-Way): Time for mah boi to win, I only pray for the match to not be a "Suplex City" shitfest that will kill all Balor's momentum. As second option, I can see Smoa Joe winning. Dream (aka unprobable) result: The Club helps Finn here and on GBoF and they form Baelor Club.

iksdreme rulez
Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins vs. Finn BĂĄlor vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Samoa Joe (who else)
Dean Ambrose vs. The Miz (with Maryse)
Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley
The Hardy Boyz vs. Cesaro and Sheamus
Neville vs. Austin Aries
Rich Swann and Sasha Banks vs. Noam Dar and Alicia Fox

Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins vs. Finn BĂĄlor vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Samoa Joe
Dean Ambrose vs. The Miz (with Maryse)
Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley
The Hardy Boyz vs. Cesaro and Sheamus
Neville vs. Austin Aries
Rich Swann and Sasha Banks vs. Noam Dar and Alicia Fox

>Assuming there will be pre-show matches
Kalisto vs. Titus O'Neil
Goldust vs. R-Truth

Last edited Jun 04, 2017 at 02:24AM EDT

@Neko I personally never got into e-fedding myself, but I used to RP a little using the video games when I was younger. My OCs had long and storied histories, I used to keep spreadsheets of their movesets and everything lol.

EXTREME predictions

  • Swann & Banks vs Dar & Foxy (going out on a limb here lol)
  • Aries vs Neville © – Cruiserweight Title
  • Sheasaro vs Hardys © – Tag Title
  • The Miz vs Ambrose © – IC Title (lol at this DQ stip on this show)
  • Bayley vs Bliss © – Women's Title
  • BĂĄlor to win the 5-way.

And then onwards
 to Great Balls of Fire!

Alright, so Mildly Extreme Rules was fairly decent, and I did end up liking it more than Backlash to be completely honest. Most of the matches were pretty good, with the main event in particular being the MOTN. The only match I considered bad was the Women's "Kendo Stick on a Pole" Match, which wasn't necessarily bad per se, but it was awfully short and a prime example of RAW's terrible booking. I'm fine with Alexa Bliss retaining, as I'm a fan of her, but I'm also a fan of Bayley, and by god has her booking been awful in the last few months. She's booked like a total chump, not like some relatable underdog. The "This is Your Life" segment last Monday didn't do any favors for Bayley, and neither did this match.

PREDICTIONS FOR MONEY IN THE BANK 2017

Post 'em, my predicted winners in bold

  • Hype Bros vs Colons (this is a pre-show match apparently, count it or don't, whatever)
  • Lana vs Naomi © – SD Women's Championship
  • New Day vs Usos © – SD Tag Championship :(
  • Charlotte Flair to win the Women's Money in the Bank match
  • Big Banter Corbin to win the Men's Money in the Bank match
  • Orton vs Mahal © – WWE Championship – if Jinder loses after a month that will still count as hindered, you better not take it off him WWE >:(

No further commentary:

Hype Bros vs Colons (P)
Lana vs Naomi © – SD Women’s Championship: #BlackExcellence, I can see a cash-in after the match is over.
New Day vs Usos © – SD Tag Championship: rip Uggos
Carmella to win the Women’s Money in the Bank match
Balanced Breakfast Corbin to win the Men’s Money in the Bank match
Orton vs Mahal © – WWE Championship – Randy is at his hometown, he loses for sure

Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Natalya vs. Tamina vs. Carmella (with James Ellsworth)
Naomi © vs. Lana
(Lana vs Charlotte feud incoming)

So, Money in the Bank, eh? Decent PPV, all the matches were at the very least alright. Some folks question some of the booking done tonight, but I'm fine with it. One match did feel particularly unnecessary, and easily could've taken place in a throwaway Smackdown episode. MOTN was the main event: great match, lots of cool ladder spots, and some outright fanservice with teases of potential, exciting feuds. So yeah, that was my short rundown of MitB; again, a decent PPV overall, no real bad matches or bad booking, but your typical WWE PPV. Guess there's Great Balls of Fire to look forward to next.

What a stinker of a PPV until the main event. The show opened with 4 fuck finishes in a row! It was just too much. I would've been fine with the Ellsworth booking (and indeed I popped hard for that) if there had been a decisive finish in the great tag match. After that it was just fuckery after fuckery. Too much heeling.

Lmao there's a fair bit of rage over the Ellsworth thing. Of course the villainous female used a man to win; a face female wouldn't have. That's the point lol.

I'm going over to the side that the heat it generates is at the company and not Carmellsworth. Such an awful booking decision after the hype makes me not wanna tune in rather than see how the story develops.

to give this thread more life

When do you started watching wrestling?
Me was in Summer 2007
every Saturday a horrible cutted version of Smackdown on german TV
but it was still great

First time I started watching wrestling was probably late 2010 or early 2011. Back then it was my little brother who was watching it, and I, like many doubters of pro wrestling, thought it was all stupid. And yet, I actually started to watch with my brother and become more invested into it (without telling him of course). Though my memory of those years are somewhat hazy, I do remember Punk dropping the pipe bomb, and even earlier Edge's retirement. But, as 2011 went by, both my brother and I stopped watching. It wouldn't be until early 2016 that I decide to try and get into wrestling again, only this time, I was going all out on it. And here I am, a pro wrestling fan.

Summer of 2008, a bit before the build up to SummerSlam. I stopped in June of July of the following year.

Then in October of last year I got into it again thanks to Eglamore, Patrician and Space Cowboy as they would discuss about wrestling all the time.

i update my post
i watched from 2007 – 2011 because it was removed from tv and replaced with TNA then in 2014 i restarted watching before WM30

Alright, two things in this post. First, gonna briefly talk about the US G1 Special New Japan had at Long Beach. I know a couple users went to the two-night show live, and I'm absolutely jealous at them and also mad at myself for not getting the tickets on time, but whatever. The shows were fantastic. Day Two probably had the best match from Kenny Omega and Tomohiro Ishii. I do hope New Japan succeeds in their US expansion. And I hope next time they come back to the States, I get tickets on time.

Next, about the upcoming WWE PPV:

I think they changed the logo awhile ago, but I do kinda miss the obvious phallic imagery.

Anyways, since GREAT BALLS OF FIIIIIIIIIIIRE is this Sunday, it's time for predictions. Winners marked in bold:

  • Neville© vs. Akira Tozawa (Cruiserweight Title; Pre-show)
Why the hell is this on the pre-show of all things?
  • Enzo Amore vs. Big Cass (Pre-show
? I think? Someone correct me on that)
  • Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman (Ambulance match)
THE BIG DAWG ALWAYS STANDS TALL!!! #AHHYESSIR
  • Shesaro© vs. The Unbroken Hardy Boyz (RAW Tag Team Titles; 30-minute Iron-Man match)
  • Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt
  • Alexa Bliss vs. Sasha Banks (RAW Women's Title)
  • The Miz© vs. Deanetty Ambrose (IC Title)
  • Bork Laser© vs. SMO JOE HE'S FAT (Universal Title)
I really want Joe to win this match, but I don't see Bork dropping it to anyone but THE BIG DAWG at Mania next year. Unless, perhaps, plans, uh, change.

i only watched the first 2 matches of the german qualifier and

BAD BONES BAD BONES BAD BONES BAD BONES

Alright, so two things:

The G1 Climax has been a thing for the past few days, and I just wanted to remind everyone that if you have the chance each day of the tournament, I suggest you should, as the matches have been great. For example, the match Kenny Omega had with Minoru Suzuki was fantastic. I've still got some catching-up to do, but if you're all caught up, I believe Day 5 is or was today. If you want to see some quality matches, check out New Japan's G1 Climax shows.

Next, WWE Battleground. The PPV's tomorrow, so I think it's about time for predictions. Once again, winners are marked in bold:

  • Aiden English vs. THE PERFECT 10 Tye Dillinger (pre-show)
  • Sami Zayn vs. THE POWER OF LOVE Mike Kanellis
  • The Uggos© vs. The New Day (SDL Tag Team Titles)
  • The Artist known as Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Big Banter Baron Corbin
  • Charlotte Flair vs. Lana vs. Tamina vs. Becky Lynch vs. Natalya (SDL Women's Title No. 1 Contender; Elimination)
  • JOHN CENA vs. Machka Rusev (Flag Match)
  • The Modern Day Maharaja Jinder Mahal© vs. Randy Orton (WWE Title; Punjabi Prison)
