7/10, I like the beat but Chance's vocals are a real acquired taste to me (I'd probably need to listen to more of his stuff for it to click).

And now I present what I call "Russian doomer trap." (press the closed caption button for English subtitles)

8/10, good music for setting the mood for something old fashioned or fancy.

And I'm about to post weird shit again because fuck it I love weird electronic rap stuff, and as someone who likes 100 Gecs and Bladee, what I'm about to post is like those musicians on crack.

1/10. Its… awful. Completely incomprehensible vocals garbled even worse by autotuning it to shit, like a child screwing around with garageband. I guess it would be a bit more acceptable if it was some ytpmv shitpost thing but it's an actual music video (I guess). Even if they made this just for fun and it's not mean to be taken too seriously it doesn't stop it from being terrible and the pinnacle of obnoxiousness. I don't know what else to say because it's turned my brain into excrement.

I'm going to bed.

@Edgy
lol, I know stuff that that is one of those "either you love it or absolutely hate it" kind of music but what can I say, I legit love this weird electronic shit.

@Lazlo
Ah yes, one of the most famous experimental acts (fun fact, I was introduced to Mike Patton thanks to The Darkness where he voices the title character). 9/10, the soundtrack to bad vacations (especially car rides).

I brought up Bladee in my last post so of course now it's time to post some Swedish sadboy stuff.

6.5/10 -- Not the type of punk I generally gravitate to, but it seems like something that fit really well in a skateboarding game.

In light of recent events, I'm bringing back this all-too prescient jam.

7.5/10
I can't say I enjoyed but at the same time I can't say I hated it, that being said there's a lot that I need to listen about Animal Collective beyond Merriweather…

Current aesthetic: cheesy mexican love ballad from the 90's

I give it an abuela's telenovela out of 10. But seriously I'd say 7/10, I like cheesy love songs on occasion.

I think this song is pretty relevant to the time period known as "late May 2020 to June 2020."

1/10, the exact kind of metal that I hate. I've noticed I throw around the term 'incomprehensible' around quite a bit but it's a perfect fit for this guttural nonsense. Honestly, after listening to this I would rate that horrible electronic song you posted a point higher because that at least had a modicum of consistency with its style whereas this just feels like edgy noise with no real point. And showing the lyrics over the song doesn't count towards it 'having a point'; if the song is completely unintelligible without it then it may as well not have lyrics at all.

Meh, here's this thing.

5/10 I don't really know how to feel about this track, it doesn't appeal to me but I don't dislike it either, I like the vocals but the pulsating background music doesn't really sound all that good to me personally

anyway let's keep the metal train going, I'm gonna put a track off the new Ulcerate record

7.5/10, A touch generic-sounding but it's not bad at all. Has a good classic feeling. Also the kind of music my mother would probably listen to.

also @fortune I don't know who that is, but lyrics aside that song actually sounds ok to me.

7.8/10
This sounds like from a Zack Synder DC superhero movie, you know the song that plays right after the movie ended and the credits start rolling, I'm saying this in a not insulting o degrading way.

Disregard politics, embrace guitar

6/10 Not quite as a real banger as the real notable songs on Pinkerton, which makes sense why its only a bonus track.

And now for the song that has become my new ringtone:

7.8/10
Ain't bad, for some reason the begging sounds like a laid-back version of "My Iron Long" by Radiohead

Grazie per tutta la musica, signore Morricone
(1928-2020)

I couldn't find the full version of "the trio" so I was forced to post the final scene of "The good, the bad & the ugly", I apologize for the spoilers here.

8.5/10
AnCo + Vashti Bunyan? Now that's a winning combination. Vashti's voice is a perfect match with Panda Bear and co's bubblegum avant-garde take on folk music

7/10. this song reminded me of the Talking Heads who I love a great deal, but I feel the song went on for maybe a bit too long with no change in the melody or beat. Would definitely listen to it again though.

7.8/10
needs moar pipes

I hope Senpai notices me umu.mp3

True story: I was reading this mango which is just a retelling of the story of Romeo and Juliet but set in a high school minus the tragic ending, and this was playing while I was reading that.
