About
Affirm My Identity or We'll Shoot Your Kids is a catchphrase and viral image macro typically portraying transgender people in a derogatory way. The expression initially appeared in April 2023 but went viral in February 2024 after a Twitter / X user created an AI image featuring a woman in front of a church with a transgender flag and the overlay text "Affirm my identity or we'll shoot your kids." The AI art ignited a debate on X as users accused the creator of being transphobic for relating an unconfirmed rumor that the person who opened fire at the Houston megachurch on February 11th, 2024, was a transgender woman.
