About
AI Manga Filter is a creative filter on TikTok that uses artificial intelligence to convert photos into manga- and anime-style images in real-time, similar to the Different Dimension Me AI. The filter became popularized on TikTok in early December 2022 as users applied it to themselves and other people, pets and objects.
Origin
It is unclear when exactly the AI Manga Filter was added to TikTok, but some of the earliest videos to use it were uploaded to the platform on December 2nd, 2022. For example, on that date, TikTokers[1][2] @adilajaaaaa and @sisteryell each posted videos using the filter, garnering over 30 million views and 2.4 million likes, and 21 million views and 3.1 million likes, respectively, in two weeks (shown below, left and right).

The AI filter became popularized on TikTok throughout December 2022, raising the hashtag[3] "#aimanga" to over 1.1 billion collective views in roughly two weeks. Some of the most viewed videos under the hashtag include a December 10th post by TikToker[4] @alice.ska that garnered over 15 million views in five days and a December 11th post by TikToker[5] @danielalcaraz07 where he uses the AI on himself and a painting of Jesus, garnering over 15.9 million views in four days (shown below, left and right).

On December 14th, 2022, TikToker[6] @littleblueblee posted a video where they use the filter on their dog, garnering over 2 million views in a day (shown below).

AI Manga Filter Breasts Hack
Some of the most prominent videos using the filter see TikTokers placing objects over their breasts to trick the AI into giving them large boobs (example shown below).

AI Manga Filter Nude Pictures
As the filter started to go viral on TikTok some users decided to test the AI Manga filter potential by utilizing it on their genitals, creating a series of images of anime-like characters, that are in fact, nude pictures. The results are uploaded on Twitter, like this image shared by @yyyuuct[7] on December 12th, 2022, which received 50,500 likes and 6,800 retweets in five days.
Other people also joined the new trend of taking nude pictures with the filter, which led to TikTok removing the AI Manga filter from its catalog[8] on December 15th, 2022.
