About
An Alabama Hot Pocket is an NSFW slang term that's a sexual act of defecation into a vagina to then have intercourse with. Since the definition was added to Urban Dictionary in 2005, its meaning has been used online and in memes as a Don't Google, shock media trend perpetuated on TikTok, Twitter and 4chan, among other sites.
Origin
On February 4th, 2005, Urban Dictionary[1] user SWC posted a definition for the "alabama hot pocket," writing, "the art of separating the vagina lips and taking a shat inside (and possibly having sex with it afterwards)." Over the course 17 years, the definition received roughly 22,200 likes and 11,500 dislikes (shown below).
In 2008, "Alabama Hot Pocket" was referenced on social media, appearing in a tweet from Twitter[2] user manzuzu that received no likes. However, it is the first known use of the term outside of Urban Dictionary.
Spread
On May 12th, 2008, the Alabama Hot Pocket was first referenced on Reddit [3] by Redditor msiekkinen. Throughout 2008 and into 2009, the Alabama Hot Pocket continued to be referenced on Twitter,[4] however, most of the tweets received little to no engagement.
On April 7th, 2010, the Alabama Hot Pocket was first referenced on 4chan within the /tv/[5] image board. On July 11th, 2011, a since-deleted Redditor posted a Rage Comic to /r/fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu[6] that referenced looking up the Alabama Hot Pocket and regretting it (shown below, left). On August 23rd, 2011, anons on 4chan's /tv/[7] board also posted about regretting the Google search, using the Mother of God image (shown below, right).
On August 21st, 2019, Twitter[8] user and woman's pro-wrestler Maki Itoh tweeted a selfie with a caption that read, "Words learned today,alabama hot pocket," earning roughly 2,500 likes in three years, being the most viral instance of an Alabama Hot Pocket reference at that time.
Alabama Hot Pocket TikToks
The Don't Google trend related to the Alabama Hot Pocket was referenced en masse on TikTok. This started on January 30th, 2021, when TikToker[8] the_killers2006 posted a video about the Alabama Hot Pocket, trying to do a "PG Version" of its explanation. Over the course of a year and a half, the TikTok received roughly 53,800 plays and 3,200 likes (shown below).

On October 28th, 2021, TikToker[9] kat.ass.trophic_failure2 uploaded a video, wherein, they're asking their "Okay Google" console what an Alabama Hot Pocket is. The TikTok received roughly 1.5 million plays and 112,800 likes over the course of ten months (shown below, left). Inspired by the aforementioned viral TikTok, creators continued to reference the term going into 2022. The discourse picked up again en masse in mid-2022, started by TikToker[10] toyadee33 on July 28th, 2022, with a vido that received roughly 1.4 million plays and 151,600 likes in two weeks (shown below, right).
