On September 29th, 2024, Redditor^[4] Aquib15 posted the video to /r/indiameme, captioning it, "Edging pro max," receiving 93 upvotes in six months.

In late 2024, other videos from Bilibili user 行者服不服 almost kissing his monkey were reposted on western social media, like a video posted by TikToker^[3] @monkey.amazing on November 8th, gaining over 69,200 likes in four months (shown below).

On February 13th, 2025, X^[5] user @RlCKYRAGE tweeted a GIF of the original video, captioning it, "In my head… I play a supercut of us…" receiving over 29,000 likes in a month (shown below).
