On May 19th, 2025, the Whatever Podcast hosted a livestreamed episode on YouTube^[1] in which Andrew Wilson, a Christian debater and host of The Crucible podcast, debates Naima Trout, a leftist influencer with opposing views, garnering over 310,000 views in four days.

At about the 2:19:50 timestamp, a jar of olives is brought onto the set at the request of a viewer who donated $1,000 and Naima is asked to open it. She fails to open the jar and hands it to the host, Biran, who asks Wilson to open it. Wilson tries and fails, claiming the jar's lid is too greasy after Naima's attempt, telling her she "greased the top." Naima teases him, "If you're so strong, you should be able to open it." Wilson asks for a paper towel so he can dry the top of the jar. He dries the jar and still fails to get the lid off. Finally, he hands it to another man on the set, who opens it quickly. Brian then gets Wilson to clean some olive juice off the table.

On May 21st, TikToker^[4] @wander.thought posted an edit of the clip that also refers to the incident as "picklegate," despite the jar being full of olives, garnering over 800,000 views in two days.

That same day, X^[5] user @ThinkingMunk reposted the clip of Brian telling Wilson to clean the olive juice, writing, "Oh no, this might be even worse lol," garnering over 7,700 likes in two days. X^[6] user @Tree_of_Logic posted, "Men's palms are drier than women's due to thicker skin, frequent outdoor activities, and exposure to harsh chemicals. Yet, this fat azz clown can't even open a jar with his shirt," garnering over 1,000 likes in two days.

On May 22nd, Wilson posted a meme to his X^[7] account, @paleochristcon, in which a mechanical arm has been photoshopped over his own, writing, "Hahahahahahahah," garnering over 1,700 likes in a day.
