AOC Visiting Migrant Detention Facility refers to a photoshop meme based on a series of photographs of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez standing in front of a fence outside of a migrant detention facility, referred to as a "tent city," in Tornillo, Texas at a protest in June 2018.
Origin
On June 24th, 2019, Twitter user @i_p_a_1[1] tweeted photographs of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appearing distraught while attending a protest a migrant detention facility (shown below). The following day, Cortez retweeted the photos along with a message lamenting the family separation at the border.
I’ll never forget this, because it was the moment I saw with my own eyes that the America I love was becoming a nation that steals refugee children from their parents,& caged them.

On June 26th, Instagram user @donttaxmebro[2] posted a multi-pane image in which Cortez is shown yelling against the fence and is burned alive by a flame bursting out of a cow's rear, followed by a scene from the 1991 action film Terminator 2: Judgment Day (shown below). That day, The Daily Dot[3] published an article titled "Conservatives have feelings about old photos from AOC's border visit resurfacing."
