About
Bed Sex Aftermath refers to an exploitable image macro series demonstrating what a bed might look like after having sex with an anime character. The final panel in these images will show a bed in a jail cell, implying that it would be illegal or pedophilic to have sex with that character.
Origin
On June 23rd, 2021, Facebook user Shida Kuroha[1] uploadedthe first-known instance of the meme by using various characters from THE IDOLM@STER, depicting the levels of damage done to a bed after having sex, with the last panel showing a jail bed due to underage character. The image received 89 reactions and 72 shares in two days (shown below).
Spread
On the same day, the format became popular among Indonesian Facebook users. For example, a few hours after Shida's post. Facebook page "Gomen Yui Posting"[2] uploaded various characters from Princess Connect Re: Dive. The image received 303 reactions and 155 shares (shown below, left). Facebook page "GBF Memes You Need"[3] uploaded the same format by using various characters from the video game Gran Blue Fantasy. The image received 87 reactions and 83 shares (shown below, center). On the same day, the Facebook page "Dokutah Lounge"[4] uploaded the most popular variation of the meme by using characters from Arknights. The image received 722 reactions and 234 shares (shown below, right).
In some cases, the image of the bed was changed depending background of the character. For example on June 24th, 2021, Facebook user Byu Omaezaki[5] uploaded an image using characters from Non Non Biyori, but each bed was changed to the jail bed. The image received 274 reactions and 162 shares (shown below, left). On the same day, Facebook user Refa Mizuhara[6] uploaded an image of various MILF characters with their bed in the same destroyed condition. The image received 853 reactions and 687 shares (shown below, right).
