Beyoncé's Cowboy Hat Growing refers to a series of photoshopped images of American singer Beyoncé with a cowboy hat that constantly grows bigger. The memes about the singer's hat started on X in mid-February 2024, as people edited the image adding bigger hats and different shapes.
Origin
On February 5th, 2024, the earliest known photoshopped Beyoncé's cowboy hat meme was posted by X[1] user @atylerisborn. The image (shown below) shows a stretched hat, which amassed more than 40 likes and 2 retweets in a week.
Spread
On February 12th, 2024, X[2] user @beyoncegarden tweeted that someone was posting pictures of Beyoncé during the 66th Annual Grammy Awards photoshopping the singer's cowboy hat in different sizes. The tweet (shown below) amassed over 70,000 likes and 5,600 retweets in a day.
Shortly after @beyoncegarden's tweet, more photoshops and parodies of the singer's hat were posted on social media. For example, on February 12th,2024 X[3] user @Beyoncespies posted a parody video of Beyoncé's hat growing bigger than the Earth. The post (shown below) amassed roughly 12,300 views and 497 likes in a day.
