The "Cuff It" Dance Challenge is a dance challenge on TikTok set to Beyoncé's song "Cuff It," released in July 2022. The dance has users lip dub to the lyrics "we gettin' fucked up tonight" and sway their hips in a specific way, sometimes while sharing a story through captions. It was created by TikToker @maycsteele in August 2022 and went viral over the following month.

Origin

On August 13th, 2022, TIkToker[1] @maycsteele posted a video dancing to "Cuff It" by Beyoncé. In the video, she and @ogpartyhardy26 lip dub to the song's lyrics while holding bottles of wine, then rhythmically sway their hips to the music, garnering over 5.1 million views in a month (shown below).

The dance spread over the following month, racking the original sound for "Cuff It" up to over 60,000 uses by September 13th, 2022. On August 29th, TikToker[2] @kylehanagami posted a video doing the dance with friends, garnering over 3.2 million views in two weeks (shown below).

The dance became notably popular that month. On September 3rd, 2022, TikToker[3] @bighoopenergyy posted a video doing the dance with a friend, garnering over 3.7 million views in a week (shown below, left). On September 9th, TikToker[4] @karissamariie posted a video doing the dance, garnering over 5.2 million views in four days (shown below, right).
