The Blue Sweatpants Girl refers to a viral video on TikTok posted by TikToker laura sophia (@laurasophiasotopr) in which she's doing the Tyla Dance to the song "Pop Like This Pt. 2 (Slowed)" in June 2024. The video gained millions of plays in less than a week and the TikToker was dubbed the "Blue Sweatpants Girl" because she was seen in the viral clip wearing pale-blue sweatpants (as well as a pink crop top). Viewers thought that the Blue Sweatpants Girl performed the dance extremely well, resulting in discourse, reactions and other viral meme content about her, comparing her to Tyla herself.

On June 9th, 2024, TikToker^[1] @laurasophiasotopr posted a video of herself doing the Tyla Dance to the song "Pop Like This Pt. 2 (Slowed)," receiving over 78.8 million plays and 11 million likes in eight days (shown below).

Other TikTokers started referencing the viral video in their content by calling @laurasophiasotopr the "Blue Sweatpants Girl," such as TikToker^[2] @uzzlangthe_soft on June 13th, 2024, who wrote, "tbh I think the bluesweatpants girl did it better than tyla," receiving over 32.9 million plays and 444,000 likes in four days (shown below, left).

On June 14th, TikToker^[3] @editzxx.cupcut posted a video that was a fan edit for the Blue Sweatpants Girl, gaining roughly 1.2 million plays and 18,900 likes in three days (shown below, right).

Others recreated and cosplayed as the Blue Sweatpants Girl in June 2024, like TikToker^[4] @goldenserenity_ on June 16th, gaining over 478,500 plays and 3,300 likes in a day (shown below).
