About

Boba Fett's Weird Comment, also known as Boba Fett Saying Something To Mando, is an exploitable image macro featuring the character Boba Fett from Star Wars talking to Din Djarin, the main character of The Mandalorian, who looks back at him. Since the format was created in late 2020, it has been used for odd comments, strange perspectives and unusual observations.

Origin

The image is taken from a scene in the seventh episode of the second season, titled "The Believer," that's in chapter 15 of The Mandalorian, which premiered on Disney+ on December 11th, 2020. In the scene, Mando and Boba Fett are seen standing together amongst the rest of their party as they strategize on how to infiltrate an Imperial base, which includes the shot of Mando looking back toward Fett (seen below).

Response Derivative

A less used derivative of the format exists, adding a third panel where Din Djarin resumes his original position and responds with a laconic agreement to Boba Fett's odd comment. This format was created on December 13th, 2020, by Redditor mandalorian88-25, who posted the sequence of images (seen below) to /r/dankmemes.[4] The post received over 21,000 upvotes in six months.
