Bought A Used Copy Of… refers to parodies of a viral Twitter thread in which a woman announced she'd purchased a used collection of Charles Bukowski poetry which featured dismissive and insulting margin notes written in ink by the previous owner. The woman praised the previous owner's notes, many of which were glib insults at the character Bukowski portrayed in his poetry. The thread inspired others to post pictures of books with overly glib or dismissive notes written in the margin in parody of the original thread.

On July 23rd, 2021, Twitter user @Leftovers_Movie[1] tweeted, "Bought a used Charles Bukowski book and the best part are the notes in the margins from a woman who clearly was having none of this shit." The first tweet in the thread gained over 10,000 retweets, 3,800 quote-tweets, and 55,000 likes (shown below).
