Bruno Mars Gambling Debt Rumor, also known as Bruno Mars MGM $50 Million Gambling Debt, is a viral rumor and conspiracy theory that American pop singer Bruno Mars owes more than $50 million in gambling debts to the MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas. The rumor started in March 2024 and was denied by MGM shortly after. Memes and jokes about the singer's supposed debt resurfaced in late January 2025 after Bruno made an Instagram post writing, "Keep streaming! I'll be out of debt in no time." The post sparked more memetic content and debate regarding his rumored gambling debt.
Origin
On March 16th, 2024, the entertainment site Complex[1] posted an article titled "Bruno Mars might be in some hot water with MGM," detailing a rumor that the singer "owed millions to the MGM [Resorts International]" and that the debt "is as high as $50 million."
That same day, the X[2] page @PopCrave posted about Bruno Mars' gambling debt (seen below), which amassed more than 11 million views and 39,000 likes in a year.
On March 18th, 2024, MGM[3] then denied the reports about Bruno Mars' $50 million gambling debt, releasing the following statement:
"Any speculation otherwise is completely false; he has no debt with MGM. Together, we are excited to continue creating unforgettable experiences for our guests."
