Bubbly's In The Fridge refers to a phrase used by character Vanessa Gold (Zoe Lucker) in the BBC British soap opera EastEnders where she lashes her anger out in her house after she learns about Max Branning's (Jake Wood) affair with Tanya Cross (Jo Joyner) on the soap. The scene has become a popular GIF searchable under names including Angry White Woman GIF and Angry Lady GIF. It is often used to express frustration with everyday life problems.
Origin
On the EastEnders episode aired on August 15th, 2011,[3] Vanessa Gold, portrayed by Zoe Lucker gets furious and attacks her home in anger after finding out that her partner Max Branning (Jake Wood) was having an affair with Tanya Cross (Jo Joyner).
Spread
After the episode had aired, EastEnders fans started to create parody videos and GIFs of Vanessa destroying her house. Vanessa Gold was trending on Twitter due to the reaction in the video.[1] Many had associated the scene with things relating to the annoying things in life and reacting to bad situations.
Zoe Lucker, who portrayed Vanessa had said that she was unaware that her scene went viral due to the outburst of her character. During the interview she had with Digital Spy, she said that the producers had told her that her scene in the show went viral and that it sparked various remixes and GIFs.[1] An Urban Dictionary [2] entry for "Bubbly's In The Fridge" reads:
