Can I Say It Just Once or "Get Over Here" TikTok Trend refers to a viral lip-dub sound on TikTok consisting of a fighter intro from Mortal Kombat 11 where Cassie Cage asks Scorpion, "Can I say it just once?" followed by Scorpion saying, "Only if you wish to suffer." She then says his catchphrase, "Get over here," in a gruff tone. The clip was uploaded to TikTok in May 2022 and went viral that month, inspiring over 80,000 videos in two weeks.

Origin

On October 8th, 2019, a skin pack was released for Mortal Kombat 11 that adds various Batman character skins to the game.^[2] One of these makes Cassie Cage look like Harley Quinn. If Cassie Cage fights against Scorpion (with or without the skin) one of the possible intros has her ask Scorpion if she can "say it just once," referring to his catchphrase "get over here." Scorpion says, "only if you wish to suffer" followed by Cassie saying the line (shown below, without skin left, with skin right).

On May 1st, 2022, TikToker^[1] @c0ray2 uploaded a clip from Mortal Kombat 11 showing the Cage and Scorpion intro, Cage using the Harley Quinn skin, followed by a montage of Harley Quinn videos over the song "FASHION" by LIL GLOCK 420, gaining over 6.8 million views in two weeks (shown below).

The original sound went viral that month as TikTokers lip dubbed to it, making a snarling expression as they say "get over here." For example, on May 8th, 2022, TikToker^[3] @kandiesz lip dubbed to the audio, gaining over 6.4 million views in five days (shown below, left). On May 9th, TikToker^[4] @keidfh posted an AMV to the sound, gaining over 1.7 million views in four days (shown below, right).

On May 12th, TikToker^[5] @ayzaoffline posted a video where she lip dubs to the audio, transitioning to a new outfit after saying "get over here," gaining over 1.8 million views in a day (shown below). The original sound was used over 83,000 times by May 13th.
