Cersei's Elephants refer to a series of jokes and memes about a memorable quote uttered by the character Cersei Lannister from the American television fantasy series Game of Thrones. In the episode, the character says, "I wanted those elephants," in regards to her demand that the animals be included to show the might of her army.

Origin

On April 14th, 2019, the season eight episode of Game of Thrones entitled "Winterfell" aired in the United States. During the episode, the character Cersei Lannister (portrayed by Lena Heady) says, "I wanted those elephants" (clip below) The comment was in regards to a request she made in season 7, when she said, "Highgarden bought us the most powerful army in Essos, the Golden Company--20,000 men, horses, elephants, I believe."^[1]

Following the episode, fans of the series began joking about the quote. Redditor ^[2] EmperorOfTheDr posted a screenshot with the title "When you wanted those elephants." The post received more than 15,000 points (98% upvoted) and 295 comments in 24 hours (shown below, left).
