On November 28th, 2024, TikToker^[1] @realityclubfox posted a clip from the game show The Floor in which two women compete head-to-head in a game. The game has each woman name the dessert shown on the screen as fast as possible to stop their individual timer from going down. Each time a contestant gets an answer right, the other's clock starts and they must answer correctly to stop their clock. The video gained over 33.9 million views in four months.

The video's audio became the subject of memes in March 2025. It is unclear who first used the sound, with one of the earliest examples being uploaded by TikToker^[2] @justin_glaze on March 11th, 2025, garnering over 4.3 million views in two weeks.

As the trend continued to go viral, it expanded beyond opening your mouth. For example, on March 20th, 2025, TikToker^[5] @taybavender posted a version of the trend in which they twerk after the desserts are named, garnering over 9.3 million views in four days.
