Christian Trust Fall Videos, also known as Christian Trust Fall Prank, refers to a series of short-form skits and pranks on TikTok in which a group of people appears to set up a "trust fall," meaning a choreographed fall in which a person intentionally lets themself fall backward with the expectation that the group will catch them, only for the group to intentionally miss, say "put your trust in God, not in man," and then advertise an upcoming mass at church. The trend was popularized in April 2024.

Origin

On April 16th, 2024, the TikTok account for Daystarchurch_^[1] posted a skit in which a man sets up to catch another man for a trust fall but intentionally misses and tells the camera, "put your trust in God, not in man." The video gained over 80,000 views and 3,700 likes in nine days (shown below).

Spread

Over the following weeks, multiple TikTok accounts for churches picked up on the trend. On April 19th, 2024, the TikTok account @wildewilsons^[2] posted a similar video, gaining over 234,000 views in one week (shown below, left). On April 22nd, user @camo4thekill^[3] posted an example that gained over 4,500 views in three days (shown below, right).

Other viral examples include an April 23rd post by the TikTok account @rockcitychurch^[4] that gained over 7,800 views in two days (shown below, left) and an April 21st post by @ebenezerla^[5] that gained over 7,000 views in four days (shown below, right).
