Country Feels is a series of customized illustrations featuring a "That Feel Guy" sitting at a computer desk surrounded by various stereotypes associated with a particular country or region. Many of the images bear similarities to the "How People View Me" two-pane cartoons.

Origin

On December 13th, 2012, Redditor legit4u submitted an illustration titled "CanadianFeels.jpg," featuring a That Feel Guy seated at a computer desk in a log cabin with a Canadian flag on the wall (shown below). Prior to being archived, the post gained over 2,600 votes (92% upvoted) on the /r/4chan^[1] subreddit.

Spread

On August 19th, 2012, Redditor ionataan submitted a Imgur gallery of country feels images titled "Guess the country" to the /r/4chan^[6] subreddit, where it accumulated more than 330 votes (91% upvoted) before it was archived.

On January 14th, 2013, Redditor ImminentFate reposted the CanadianFeels.jpg image to the /r/pics^[3] subreddit, where it gathered upwards of 2,000 votes (84% upvoted) prior to being archived. On February 6th, 2013, an America-themed version of the image was submitted in a thread to the /warc/ (wildcard archive) board on the imageboard Uboa Chan.^[4]

On January 14th, 2014, Body Building Forums^[2] member RonPaul2012 posted several country feels images in a "TFW No GF" thread. On February 11th, many of the images were reposted by Body Building Forums^[5] member Gookzilla in a thread requesting "the rarest feel guy".
