In mid-March 2022, a screenshot of the TikTok video went viral on Twitter, with artists creating redraws of fictional characters based on it.

Origin

On March 2nd, 2022, TikToker^[1] @majorpectoralis, best known for videos of his pronounced pectoral muscles, posted a video in which he reacted to a comment reading, "cover them up slut." In the video, majorpectoralis shakes his head before showing off his chest. The video received over 121,800 views and 30,200 likes in two weeks (shown below).

On March 9th, 2022, Twitter^[2] user @targaliare tweeted a still frame from @majorpectoralis' video, writing, "guys i have new material." The tweet gained over 2,300 retweets and 17,700 likes in one week (tweet and image shown below, left and right).

Spread

Starting on March 9th, 2022, artists on Twitter shared redraws based on the image, mostly of characters falling under the Himbo archetype. For example, on March 10th, Twitter^[3] user @cuco_pinto posted a sketch of Sett from League of Legends_, which gained over 33 retweets and 131 likes in five days (shown below, left). On March 11th, Twitter^[4] user @jEllyGirl_020 posted a redraw of Bokuto from Haikyuu!!, which gained over 320 retweets and 1,100 likes in three days (shown below, right).

In the following days, multiple redraws based on the image went viral on Twitter. For example, fan art of Ryu from Street Fighter by Twitter^[5] user @izukuxo, posted on March 12th, gained over 2,100 retweets and 14,600 likes in two days (shown below, left). A redraw of Gyro Zeppeli from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure by @fishfish3Q,^[6] posted on March 13th, gained over 1,000 retweets and 4,700 likes in one day.

On March 12th, 2022, @majorpectoralis reacted to his Twitter popularity on TikTok^[7] (video shown below, right).
