Dadosaur is a character created by Frankie Mannella for his daughters. The character became popular on TikTok in April 2020 after his daughter Olive Mannella uploaded videos of him in character. Mannella turns into the character after someone says "dadosaur" and then destroys everything in sight all while making dinosaur-like gestures.

Origin

On April 3rd, 2020, TikToker @olivemannella uploaded the first video of Dadosaur (shown below). The video garnered over 269,900 likes in18 days.

Spread

On April 5th, 2020, TikToker @olivemannella uploaded another dadosaur video that received over 93,100 likes in 16 days. On April 13th, @olivemannella uploaded the most popular Dadosaur video in which he destroys the family's easter cake (shown below center). The video garnered over 1.7 million likes in eight days. On April 15th, TikToker @olivemannella uploaded another video of her father turning into Dadosaur while holding a gallon of milk (shown below, right). The video garnered over one million likes in six days.

That same day, Twitter user @queentoniiiii shared a Dadosaur video adding the caption, "Don’t say “dadosaur” or he will turn into this….Loudly crying face y’all are so blessed to have dads in y’all life’s Pleading face especially the fathers who entertain you Face with tears of joy #girldad #dadosaur #TikTok #funny" (shown below). That day, Facebook^[1] user Ali Sanford posted all of Dadosaur's videos and said, "I’ve seen a lot of people sharing the “dadosaur” videos and I’ve been following the daughter on tiktok for a while so here’s all of them 😂** these are not my videos. Just sharing to spread the joy. Her username on tiktok is @olivemannella 💕." The post received over 3,500 shares and 366 reacts in six days. Yahoo,^[2] ComicBook^[3] and The Daily Dot^[4] published articles on Dadosaur.
