Damn Shawty OK! refers to an MS Paint drawing of a man receiving oral sex from a woman, captioned "Damn Shawty OK!" Online, the poorly-drawn image has been used as an exploitable in image macros and photoshops. The format regained online attention in 2020, again returning in January 2021 with Damn Shawty Let's X versions.

Origin

Though the origin of the image is unclear, the earliest known post to use it was posted May 9th, 2014 by Twitter user @BASEDJESUS,^[1] who captioned the image "when u getting that sloppy top" and gained over 590 retweets and 790 likes (shown below).

Spread

The image began spreading on social media over the following years. One of the most popular iterations labeled it "extroverts" and placed it alongside a Galaxy Brain image labeled "introverts." This spread on Tumblr through 2016,^[2] gaining over 194,000 notes (shown below).

The image began seeing use as an exploitable in the coming years. On May 14th, 2018, Imgur user stonefuxkingisland^[3] posted a mashup with the image and OK Computer^[3] (shown below, left). On February 3rd, 2020, Twitter user @Helen^[4] used the image in a Bernie Sanders Writing On a Whiteboard meme, gaining over 21,000 retweets and 100,000 likes (shown below, right).

Damn Shawty Let's X

On January 12th, 2021, Twitter^[5] user @shaohmi posted an edit in which the man patted a crying woman on her head, captioned "Damn shawty, let's buy a plant.* In the second panel, the man and the girl were edited browsing a plant store and holding hands. The post received over 32,200 retweets and 158,700 likes in three days (shown below).

The tweet prompted an influx of similar edits from users on Twitter. For example, on January 13th, 2021, Twitter^[6] user @bigmikstake posted an edit that received over 2,600 retweets and 11,600 likes in two days (shown below, left). On the same day, Twitter^[7] user @milkinhisbag posted an edit that gained over 180 retweets and 1,600 likes (shown below, right).
