On December 28th, 2016, YouTube account Kaelin and Kyrah uploaded the first video to feature the prank, gaining over 985,000 views (shown below).
Spread
On January 1st, 2017, YouTube account Hey D&D published their version of the prank, gaining over 3.1 million views (shown below, left). Account Chris and Queen did their version of the prank the same day, gaining over 1 million views (shown below, right).
The trend continued into 2017 with the added twist of tying the girlfriend in question up. The most popular videos showing the prank include a video by De'arra & Ken 4 Life that gained over 4.7 million views (shown below, left) and a video by Karlee and Connor that gained over 3.8 million views (shown below, right).
