DNC Surprise Guest Rumors refers to a series of online speculations and jokes about who could be a special guest performance at the 2024 Democratic National Convention. Netizens started to speculate in mid-August 2024 about top celebrities like Taylor Swift or Beyoncé, sharing memes on X related to other celebrities fans would like to see at the DNC convention.

On August 22nd, 2024, the parody account @Angry_Staffer tweeted about a surprise guest expected to appear on the last day of the 2024 Democratic National Convention[1], writing "If you thought the Ophrah surprise was big, just wait." The tweet has since been deleted and a screenshot of it was reposted by X[2] user @BFriedmanDC a few hours later on the same day, amassing over 19,000 likes and 2,300 reposts in a day.
It was later revealed the surprise guest performers were The Chicks, Pink and guitarist Justin Derrico.[4]

One of the earliest viral memetic content about the DNC surprise guest was posted by @PanasonicDX4500,[3] who added the Succession TV Show reaction video of Roy looking at his computer nervously with a ton of emails paired with the caption "the DNC's social media manager watching the Taylor Swift/Beyoncé surprise appearance speculation tweets pour in while Lin-Manuel Miranda warms up." The post (seen below) amassed more than 2.9 million views and 75,000 likes in a day.

Speculations about DNC's surprise guest sparked a series of jokes and memes on X, especially between Beyoncé and Taylor Swift fans. For instance, on August 22nd, 2024, X[5] user @bornysterday posted a reaction video paired with the caption "Kamala after tricking yall to watch the DNC for a Beyoncé performance," which amassed more than 624,000 views and 23,000 likes in a day.
