"Do I Look Like I Know What a JPEG is?" is a memorable quote uttered by Hank Hill in season 9 of the American animated television series King of the Hill.
Origin
On April 10th, 2005, Fox aired the King of the Hill episode "Redcorn Gambles with His Future."[1] In the episode, Hank Hill is tasked with organizing the Strickland Family Fun Day event by his boss, Buck Strickland. In one scene, Hank, at a print shop, irately asks the clerk if it looks like he knows what a JPEG is before telling the clerk that all he wants is a picture of a "god-dang hot dog".
On February 10th, 2010, YouTube user FontaineDelaTour uploaded the above video entitled "I just want a picture of a god-dang hot dog!" which, as of December 14th, 2017 has over 314,000 views and more than 3,000 likes.[2]

A few years later, on May 27th, 2013, YouTube user "BobRobster" uploaded a video entitled "For when someone posts a compressed image/uses Windows XP to save a jpeg…" which features the scene degrading in quality, with the ending mimicing a JPEG image with a high compression rate. As of December 14th, 2017 the video has over 5.6 million views and more than 60 thousand likes (shown below).[3]
On January 25th, 2014, an anonymous Imgur user posted a severely degraded screenshot of the scene with the caption reading "Do I look like I know what a "jay peg" is?". As of December 14th, 2017 the post has received 262 views (shown below).[4]
On July 8th, 2014, YouTuber drofnasleinad uploaded a remix of the scene which gained over 1.2 million views (shown below, left). On November 9th, 2017, YouTuber Dumbest Of All Worlds uploaded a parody of the Stranger Things title card by having it read "Do I Look Like I Know What a JPEG Is?", gaining over 54,000 views (shown below, right).
