Dora's Kabedon, also known as Dora's Pairing, refers to a series of Dora the Explorer fan art in which the fictional characters Dora and Swiper the Fox are depicted in kabedon-style (the action of slapping a wall fiercely, which produces the sound "don"). In other, similar examples, sometimes the fan art pairs Dora with other characters from the TV show in gijinka-style. Starting in July 2020, many of these Dora fan arts using its style began appearing and spreading online.
On July 7th, 2020, Twitter user @annemarizz replied to @itsIucifer_'s tweet that included a Dora the Explorer fanfiction and uploaded the fan art version of it in gijinka-style, reimagining Swiper and Dora in kabedon. The tweet received 117 retweets and 409 likes (shown below).
Although the origin stems from Twitter, Dora's fanart continued to spread on Facebook, and after July 7th, 2020, Facebook user Praei Green reposted both @itsIucifer's fanfiction and @annemarizz's fan art to use as a profile picture. The post received more than 26,000 reactions and 23,000 shares (shown below).
In the following days, many Facebook users created Dora fan arts in similar styles. For example, on July 10th, 2020, Facebook user Ely Guacamole uploaded Dora fan art, which portrayed Swiper doing kabedon, and the post received more than 13,000 reactions and 24,000 shares (shown below).
Another popular fanart was posted on July 12th, 2020, by Facebook user Susurro Yo, who uploaded the same Dora fan art and received more than 21,000 reactions and 27,000 shares (shown below).
