Dudes On My Timeline Be Like Go X refers to an exploitable image macro and phrasal template of several men jumping and cheering while dressed in cheerleader costumes. The meme's image is sourced from the 2005 film The Longest Yard and is typically used to mock men for liking specific celebrities, often via recaption edits.

Origin

The movie The Longest Yard was released on May 27th, 2005. The movie followed Adam Sandler as he played a former pro football quarterback advising a prison team. Tracy Morgon played an effeminate cheerleader and featured in a scene alongside an all-male squad cheering on Sandler's team (shown below).[1]



The earliest known version of the meme showing several men dressed as cheerleaders jumping and cheering was an image captioned, "Dudes on my TL be like "Go Lebron' lol." The earliest known post of the meme was a tweet by X[2] / Twitter user @richydeej on June 17th, 2016 (seen below).

On January 11th, 2019, iFunny[3] user @VERSACEiCE posted the image with the text edited to read, "Dudes on my timeline be like GO Playboi Carti." The image was reposted to X[4] on May 7th, 2019, where it gathered nearly 4,000 likes in five years (seen below, left). On August 6th, 2021, the Instagram[5] page @inhalemybees posted a version of the meme that read, "Dudes on my timeline be like GO Kanye West," gathering over 25,000 likes in three years (seen below, right).

On June 26th, 2022, Tumblr[6] user @powerbottombrucespringsteen posted a version of the meme that read "Dudes on my timeline be like GO Trumpet," in response to a post about the first-ever Bloodhound winning a best in show at a dog show. The post gathered over 84,000 notes in two years (seen below, left).

On August 18th, 2023, the Instagram[7] page @unethical.cain posted a version of the meme retaining the original phrasal template title and changing the image of the cheerleading men. The post gathered over 1,000 likes in seven months (seen below, right).
