The acronym was first used on Twitter in June 2020 and spread over the following years in out-of-context memes and as a copypasta across multiple social media platforms. It is similar to other NSFW acronyms like LMSYCUYCDMT and LMSYDTYNIMM.
Origin
On June 20th, 2020, Twitter[1] user @monsouleil posted, "it’s always 'wyd' never 'dywmtcoaeyptycomf' 😔," garnering over 540 likes and 100 retweets in two years (shown below). This is the first known post sharing the acronym and is a play on the It's Always WYD and Never HYD.
Spread
The acronym gained viral spread over the following months as people reposted it and memes referencing it across social media. On June 26th, 2020, Facebook[2] page Yeah the Girls shared a tweet using the acronym, garnering over 1,200 reactions in two years. On July 4th, Instagram[3] user meme_girl_got_no_chill_ posted a screenshot using the acronym, garnering over 19,500 likes in a similar span of time. On July 19th, Tiktoker[4] @kaylacoblentz posted a video where she gets her boyfriend to guess what the acronym means, garnering over 12.5 million views in two years (shown below).

It was defined on Urban Dictionary[6] on July 23rd. On September 28th, TikToker[7] @amanda_johansen5 posted a similar video to @kaylacoblentz's, garnering over 3.9 million views in two years (shown below).
