The post compares Kasparian's mannerisms to the Happy Merchant, an antisemitic illustration of a Jewish man that plays into numerous offensive stereotypes.

On October 9th, 2025, Ana Kasparian made a post on X^[4] responding to the virality of her clip and the comparisons to the Happy Merchant illustration. In her response, which gained over 83,000 likes and 10,000 reposts in a day, she pretends as if she's going to apologize, writing:

I’m been urged to offer a response to the backlash over my mockery of billionaire Larry Ellison, who recently bragged about his role in building a dystopian surveillance state where we’re all monitored and on our “best behavior.”
