Overview

Belle Delphine's 2022 Return refers to the e-girl, cosplayer and NSFW model featured on PornHub and OnlyFans, Belle Delphine, returning to social media in April 2022 by posting a selfie to Twitter with her phone displaying the date and time. Her return sparked discussion online, similar to her 'I'm Back' music video in 2020.

Background

On June 17th, 2020, Delphine returned to social media after a long hiatus, announcing her return with a music video titled, "I'M BACK." It was posted to YouTube where, over the course of two years, it received roughly 46.2 million views (shown below). Along with the announcement, she effectively launched her OnlyFans account at the time.

On the same day, however, both Delphine's Instagram and TikTok pages were banned, stunting her growth on both platforms. Despite this, Delphine continued to post content to Twitter. On Valentine's Day 2021, Delphine then posted a tweet^[1] that marked a second hiatus from social media. The tweet earned roughly 52,100 likes in 14 months (shown below).

On November 5th, 2021, YouTuber SunnyV2 posted a video titled, "Why Belle Delphine's Career Died," wherein he detailed the timeline of her career and talked about her most recent hiatus. Over the course of five months, the video received roughly 6.8 million views (shown below, left). On April 13th, 2022, Twitch streamer Pokimane then posted her own video to YouTube, reacting to SunnyV2's video and putting her own spin on the topic. Over the course of one week, the video earned roughly 237,900 views (shown below, right).

Belle Delphine's Return to Twitter

On April 18th, 2022, Belle Delphine posted a tweet^[2] for the first time in 14 months, captioning two images of her holding up her phone screen with, "Damn, time flies when ur rich." Over the course of two days, the tweet received roughly 89,000 likes (shown below).

Reactions and Memes

Twitter users started to react to her return going into April 2022. For instance, Twitch streamer susu posted a tweet^[3] on April 18th reading, "Belle Delphine’s back I’m gonna slaughter my meat," earning roughly 15,500 likes in two days (shown below, left). Also on the 18th, Twitter^[4] user AceOfTroll replied to Delphine, captioning an image of Beast Boy from Teen Titans screaming at Starfire with, "HELLO BELLE DELPHINE IT’S GOOD TO SEE YOU BACK." The reply earned roughly 1,300 likes in two days (shown below, right).

A parody account of Delphine posted a tweet^[5] on April 19th that also commented on her hiatus, stating that she was, "extremely unhinged with an insatiable appetite for trolling." In one day, the tweet earned roughly 2,700 likes (shown below).
