On February 2nd, 2023, American pop star Beyoncé announced the World Tour for her latest album, Renaissance, on her Instagram[1] account @beyonce. The post received 2.7 million likes in the first hour posted (seen below).
A Pitchfork[2] article explained that the singer's tour "begins with a European leg in May, followed by dates in Canada and the United States that extend from early July through late September."

Immediately after the announcement, fans began to flood social media with their excitement for Beyoncé's concerts, as it is her first tour since 2018. Twitter[3] user @bilariga shared a clip from the HBO show White Lotus to express what the Ticketmaster queue will be like. The video received 149,000 views and 4,100 likes in a day (seen below).

Alongside the new world tour announcement, Beyoncé fans have started a trend on TikTok[5] inspired by her Qatar show on January 21st, 2023. The term "Beyoncé Riff Challenge Song" has accumulated 36 million views on the platform in less than a month and references a moment in the concert in which the singer is riffing a part of her song "Drunk in Love."[5] A video recorded by a fan and uploaded by @b.beyonce on TikTok[6] shows the viral moment, which garnered 2.8 million views in two weeks.

Fans are recreating the riff challenge, like in @royyaltee's TikTok[7] [8] post on January 23rd, which received 164,000 views and 15,000 likes in two weeks (below, left). TikToker @adannaduru also joined the trend with a video on January 26th, receiving 74,000 views and 8,400 likes in five days (below, right).
