Emmanuel Macron's 2018 Visit to the White House refers to trip French President Emmanuel Macron and wife Brigitte Macron to Washington, D.C. to meet with United States President Donald Trump.

Online, many discussed how frequently President Trump and Macron touched eachother. NBC reported, "President Donald Trump and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron put their warm bromance on full public display Tuesday, engaging in frequent PDAs at the White House that revealed how friendly they have grown since a tense meeting last spring."
The Daily Beast reporter Gideon Resnick tweeted a pic of the two of them together, "she say do you love me, i tell her only partly." The post (shown below) received more than 15 retweets and 50 likes in 24 hours.
Planting a Tree
On April 24th, Macron tweeted a video of Trump and Macron planting a tree. He added the caption, "100 years ago, American soldiers fought in France, in Belleau to defend our freedom. This oak tree (my gift to @realDonaldTrump) will be a reminder at the White House of these ties that bind us." The post (shown below) received more than 2,300 retweets and 8,100 likes in 24 hours.

Following the post, people began posting memes and jokes about the video. Twitter @goldengateblond tweeted the picture with the caption, "[hushed David Attenborough voiceover] watch as the siberian tangerine troglodyte spends a rare few seconds engaged in actual labor." The post (shown below, left) received more than 320 retweets and 1,500 likes in 24 hours.
Twitter user @hunterlaurie tweeted the picture with the caption, "which pink floyd album is this." The post (shown below, center) received more than 31,000 retweets and 101,000 likes in 24 hours.
Twitter user @AntoineMokrane tweeted the picture with the caption, "Previously in Desperate housewives." The post (shown below, right) received more than 13,000 retweets and 20,000 likes in 24 hours.
Following a joint press conference, people online made jokes about Melania Trump's white hat that she had worn to the meeting. Twitter user @jbillinson tweeted a video of Melania in the hat standup up in the bottom of the frame at the end of the press conference. He included the caption "THE HAT." The tweet (shown below) received more than 18,000 retweets and 75,000 likes in 24 hours.

Macron's Address to Congress
On April 25th, 2018, Emmanuel Macron addressed a joint session of congress. During the speech, Macron made numerous references to fighting climate change and nationalism. Many in the media determined that the speech was made in opposition to President Trump's policies.
