About

Kelly Osbourne Ozempic and Plastic Surgery Speculation refers to online discourse surrounding a change in Kelly Osbourne's physical appearance between the late 2010s and mid-2020s, sparking rumors that she either had drastic plastic surgery, such as buccal fat removal, or started taking Ozempic to lose weight. Discussions about her appearance went particularly viral in late February 2026 after photos of Osbourne at the Brit Awards garnered attention. In response, she shamed critics and reminded them that her father, Ozzy Osbourne, died recently, writing in an Instagram Story that she was going through the hardest time of her life.

Osbourne has responded to the claims in interviews, confirming that she had a gastric sleeve surgery to help her lose weight. She has also told interviewers that she had gestational diabetes during her pregnancy and that it made her lose "too much" weight after giving birth. In 2024, she denied ever taking Ozempic.

Background

On August 20th, 2020, Kelly Osbourne revealed on an episode of the Hollywood Raw podcast that she had gastric sleeve surgery to lose weight. She was able to lose about 85 pounds as a result of the surgery. Osbourne spoke openly and proudly about the surgery, saying, "I will never ever ever lie about it ever. It is the best thing I have ever done."[1][2]

During a 2023 episode of the Scheananigans with Scheana Shay podcast, Osbourne admitted that she took her post-pregnancy weight loss journey to lose her baby weight "too far," but that she had stopped. She also claims that she has used non-surgical procedures like EMFACE and EMSCULPT to tighten her face and body muscles to appear thinner.[3]

In 2024, Kelly Osbourne notably denied using Ozempic for weight loss during an interview with Extra.[4]

In December 2025, Osbourne responded to further criticisms about her weight loss, mentioning that her dad had recently died and she was having a hard time. She said, "To the people who keep thinking they're being funny and mean by writing comments like 'Are you ill,' or 'Get off Ozempic, you don't look right […] My dad just died, and I'm doing the best that I can, and the only thing I have to live for right now is my family." Her mother, Sharon Osbourne, defended her.[5]

That same day, USA Today[8] reported on an Instagram Story posted by Osbourne in response to the renewed speculation on her appearance. The IG Stories read:

"There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something. Kicking me while I'm down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most. None of it proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character […] I'm currently going through the hardest time in my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won't sit here and allow myself to be dehumanized in such a way!"
