Overview

Logan Paul Pushed Dog Off Boat Allegations refers to a viral video posted by influencer and content creator Logan Paul in July 2020 that resurfaced in mid-August 2024 on Reddit and X / Twitter, which allegedly showed him pushing his Siberian husky Broley off a pontoon boat while it was moving. Although Logan Paul has publically denied the accusations in a comment under the video, Redditors and X / Twitter users reignited the allegations, sparking a viral debate online. The controversy was further fueled by past controversies involving Paul and his animals, such as his alleged abandoning of a pet pig.

Background

On July 22nd, 2020, American influencer and YouTuber Logan Paul uploaded a video to his YouTube[1] channel titled "Can I Borrow $250,000?" in which the first five seconds his dog, a Siberian husky named Broley, appears to fall from the front of the boat before disappearing underneath it (seen below). Paul then jumps in the water after Broley reappears on the other side and rescues the dog. The video amassed more than 7.6 million views and 373,000 likes in four years.

Shortly after being uploaded, initial accusations that Logan Paul had pushed his dog on purpose began to emerge in the comment section of the video.

Logan Paul's Response

On July 22nd, 2020, the same day the YouTube video was originally uploaded, Logan Paul then pinned a statement under his video about the allegations that he pushed the dog, writing that he "would never" push "Broley off the boat" and that "he jumped and a hand was behind him, petting him, and when he jumped, we attempted to grab him but FOR A FACT we did not push him." The comment (seen below) amassed roughly 21,000 likes and 320 replies in four years.

On August 22nd, 2024, an unknown Redditor[2] resurfaced Logan Paul's dog video in the /r/h3h3productions subreddit, captioning it, "Logan Paul attempts to kill his dog by pushing it into a boat propeller for 'content.'" The video has since been deleted, but the post amassed more than 22,000 likes and 4,000 comments in a day.

On the same day, X user @ask_aubry[3] shared the video that went viral on Reddit, alleging Paul "tried to play it off that the dog jumped but you can clearly see his hands pushing. Which means the dog fell in front and the boat went over him." The video (seen below) received more than 2 million views and 21,000 likes in a day, sparking more debate about the allegations that Logan pushed his dog off the boat.

Other accusations related to Logan Paul's alleged abuse of animals surfaced online shortly after, as X[4] user @SlammyIGN posted on August 22nd writing that Paul also had "a small dog eaten by a coyote, a parrot eaten by a dog, and he 'rehomed' his pig pearl who he bought for content." The tweet (seen below) amassed roughly 470 likes and 90 reposts in a day.

Logan Paul's Abandoned Pig Pearl

Logan Paul's Abandoned Pig Pearl refers to controversy stemming from reports that a miniature pig named Pearl once owned by influencer Logan Paul was purportedly found in a life-threatening condition in a Californian field next to another dead pig that was assumed to be Piggy Smalls (also previously owned by Paul) after allegedly being "discarded" by its previous owner. The story trended in January 2023 after The Gentle Barn animal sanctuary posted a viral video sharing the conditions Pearl was found in and that they helped nurse her back to health, inspiring backlash towards Paul as people blamed him for allegedly abandoning Pearl and using her for content.

@thegentlebarn Pearl was found alone in a field next to another pig who had passed away. She came to us with tattered ears and a potentially life-threatening infection in her uterus that has since been healed. She's clearly been through so much trauma that we can't begin to imagine, but she's now safe with us at The Gentle Barn. From what we've been told, it's believed she was purchased originally from a breeder by an influencer. People often buy "mini pigs" or “teacup pigs” for clout online, believing they will stay small. When they inevitably grow very large and have many unexpected needs, they're sadly discarded. While we don't know everything she's been through in her past, we know her life is now filled with friends, nutritious foods, the highest quality care, and so much love. #pigrescue #animalrescuestory #abandonedanimals #pigsoftiktok #farmanimalrescue #thegentlebarn ♬ Where is My Mind? – Piano Version – The Blue Notes
