About
Guy Quits His $100K Job To Work For Jake Paul refers to a TikTok video posted by user @aj_wallace69 who quit his $100,000 a year job at 22 to try and work for Jake Paul. In the video that was posted in August 2021, Wallace talks to Logan Paul backstage at an event who denies Wallace's advances. Wallace later cries and vents about the failed interaction in his car. The video trended later on Twitter in September 2021, where users discussed the ridiculousness of Wallace's actions as well as the composure of Paul in the face of the awkward situation.
Origin
On August 29th, 2021, TikToker @aj_wallace69 posted multiple videos of himself at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio where Jake Paul was set to box Tyron Woodley.[1] Wallace planned to sneak backstage at the event and ask Jake Paul for a job on his team. In a video [2] he posted (shown below, left), prior to the viral one of him crying in his car, Wallace reiterates how he's going to be on Jake Paul's team, "one way or another." In a second video [3] he posted (shown below, right), prior to the crying video, Wallace runs into Barstool Sports' David Portnoy and asks him, as well as others on the streets of Cleveland, if they think his dreams are possible. These videos further outline Wallace's ideology of doing, "Whatever it takes," to get Paul's attention.

Whatever it takes
@piccsix @jakepaul @stoolpresidente Dave Portnoy said it’s possible so must be…
On August 29th, 2021, Wallace uploaded a video [4] of him talking to Logan Paul, not Jake Paul, backstage at the event spliced with footage of him later debriefing the failed interaction in his car (shown below). In the video, Wallace reiterates in his car, between tears, that he's 22 and that he quit his high-paying job to pursue his Jake Paul dreams. He states that he, "wants to act," and "do these things." He is upset and crying in the car, and states that he's not close with his family and doesn't have many friends. Logan Paul in the video, when confronted by Wallace, asks him, "What are you good at?" Wallace says he's good at TikTok dances. Logan Paul sees no reason to hire him and encourages Wallace to generate content organically with his friends the way he did. He insists that Wallace must have friends and he states, "life isn't about hand-outs." The video received roughly 12 million views and 1.5 million likes over the course of five days.

Spread
On August 30th, 2021, after his video went viral on TikTok, Wallace uploaded another video [5] (shown below) of himself in his car wearing a t-shirt reading, "Logan Can I Have a J.O.B.?" In the video, Wallace spliced footage of a TikTok uploaded by Jake Paul the day prior. In Jake Paul's TikTok, he imitates Wallace and mocks him. Paul later deleted the TikTok after only a day.

People on Twitter would go on to clown Wallace for his decisions and actions. Their comments would follow in the same vein as TikTok users' reactions, talking about his entitlement and Logan Paul's composure. Twitter users also memed about Logan Paul actually doing something respectable in contrast to his controversial past.
