The Nala Ray Baking Videos Controversy refers to backlash and criticism over ex-OnlyFans model Nala Ray's shift from adult content to baking videos and other content on her Instagram page fitness_nala. Nala, a pastor's daughter, quit OnlyFans in March 2024 after reconnecting with her faith and finding a boyfriend. In early 2025, her baking videos and content shift, in general, were criticized by some Christian conservatives online for being disingenuous and, in their eyes, remaining too sexual. Others also defended her and her cooking videos.

Background

In March 2024, adult content actress Nala Ray announced that she quit OnlyFans. The New York Post^[1] reported on the story, claiming that she quit because “The ones who are glamorizing [this lifestyle] are men trying to run women’s lives and take a percentage out of it" and because she reconnected with God after getting a partner who was a devout Christian.

Nala shifted her content to be more general and started posting on the Instagram page fitness_nala. On January 13th, 2025, she posted her first baking video to Instagram^[2] in which she makes chocolate chip cookies, garnering over 500,000 views in a month.

On January 14th, X^[3] user @Rach4Patriarchy reposted the chocolate chip cookie video to criticize it, writing, "She’s actually doing the baking videos now 😂 listen I don’t wish anything bad on her. But it’s starting to be hilarious how they all have the exact same trajectory. It’s the industry standard biz model. 🌽⭐️-->✝️🛁-->trad👰🏼‍♀️-->🍪👩‍🍳--> thirst traps + jesus merch." The post garnered over 2,100 likes in a month.

Developments

On February 6th, 2025, X^[4] user @maryarchived reposted another of Nala's baking videos, which she found to be too overtly sexual, writing, "anyone else think something is off about this? just me? okay," garnering over 2,400 likes in a day.

That same day, X^[5] user @AnthonyReprint posted screenshots from the video, writing, "Defend this you stupid lying hellbound bitсh🤣," garnering over 220 likes in a day.

Later on February 6th, X^[6] user @abbythelibb_ posted a defense for Nala, claiming that the video is "subtly sexual" but writing that "She spent years making hardcore [content], and her entire identity was about being sexually desirable to the extreme. I think she's got a lot of little, subtle habits in her mannerisms and facial expressions that will take time and intentionality to break and change." The post gained over 1,300 likes in a day.

On February 7th, 2025, X^[7] user @nicholasdeorio quote-reposted the post, sarcastically writing, "'The Nala baking video is subtly sexual. I don't think she intended it to be' is crazy lmfao," garnering over 200 likes in three days.
