Overview

The Robert J. O'Neill Masked Guest On Fox News Allegations refers to claims that former U.S. Navy SEAL Robert J. O'Neill has played several anonymous "masked guests" during Fox News segments hosted by Jesse Watters on his program Jesse Watters Primetime, including a masked former Antifa member and an ex-gang member, in order to help spread a specific narrative to viewers. The accusations were put forward on October 6th, 2025, by X / Twitter user @DecodingFoxNews, who posted a video edit comparing two appearances by the masked man, alleged to be O'Neill on Fox News, gaining viral spread over the following days. Another comparison image purportedly showing a third appearance by the man alleged to be O'Neill also started spreading, showing him portraying a Gazan, but this appearance is fake. In response, O'Neill made a post calling out the Occupy Democrats social media account for sharing the allegations in a post using the fake third comparison image, threatening to sue them.

Background

Robert J. O'Neill

Robert J. O'Neill is a former Navy SEAL who is purported to have been the one who shot and killed al-Qaeda terrorist Osama Bin Laden, although some have refuted this claim.[1] Previously, he went viral in 2024 for a tweet in which he called a group of young influencers who voted for former VP Kamala Harris in the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election "concubines."

Fox News Segment "Former Antifa Member Speaks Out"

On October 3rd, 2025, Fox News uploaded a segment to YouTube[2] in which Jesse Watters talks with a masked man alleged to be an Antifa whistleblower. In the interview from Jesse Watters Primetime, the masked man paints Antifa as violent. He claims to have joined Antifa as a teen and says that he saw the violence Antifa enacts as "a perk" of joining. He claims he had Molotov cocktails and a copy of The Anarchist Cookbook at that age because he joined Antifa and was ready to enact violence. He also claims he was forced to take violent action under the threat of being hurt.

Allegations by DecodingFoxNews

On October 6th, 2025, X[3] user @DecodingFoxNews posted a video comparing the clip of the masked former Antifa member with an older Fox News clip, also from a segment hosted by Watters, in which he talks to a masked man purported to be a former Mexican Mafia member. The post claims that the two look to be the same person, reading, "Last week Jesse Watters spoke to man named Eric who claimed he was formerly a member of antifa. Two years ago Watters interviewed Ramon 'Mundo' Mendoza, a former Mexican Mafia member. Some folks thought the men looked similar. This is a side by side comparison," garnering over 29,000 likes and 2.6 million views in three days.

That day, the @craigipedia X[5] account shared a screenshot of a post as a comment under @covie_93's post, claiming it's fake and was posted under @DecodingFoxNews' original post. Seemingly, it was posted and created by X[6] user @quadcarl_carl, who posted the image under @DecodingFoxNews' post.

Craig Harrington @craigipedia.bsky.social The great @decodingfoxnews.bsky.social found two eerily similar segments that really did appear on Jesse Watters' program.
