Every Straight Girl On This Site refers to a snowclone popular on Twitter using the template "Every straight girl on this site is X, but is in love with a man that Y," in which X is a positive quality and Y is a negative. The format is a parody of a tweet by a woman who stated straight women on the site have beautiful apartments but are in love with men who live in squalor.
Origin
On August 5th, 2018, Twitter user @LLW90210[1] made an exaggerated observation stating "every straight girl on this site has an apartment filled with stunning art, plants and vintage furniture but is in love with a man who sleeps on a bare mattress next to his PS4." The tweet gained over 21,000 retweets and 207,000 likes (shown below).
Spread
Some Twitter users responded to the tweet confirming its observation. One Twitter user, @JodyHamilton, posted a picture of her partner's room, gaining over 30 retweets and 1,000 likes (shown below, left). This led other Twitter users to joke with her that she was "in danger" (example shown below right).
Other Twitter users turned the tweet into a snowclone with various positive and negative qualities. Some popular posts include a tweet by @McLeemz making an esoteric point about chocolate production (shown below, left). Another tweet by user @brian_hanson used the snowclone with various pieces of witchcraft (shown below, right). The jokes were covered by Daily Dot.[2]
