Everything Reminds Me Of Her / Him or Everywhere I Look Something Reminds Me Of Her is a catchphrase used in a series of image macro and image caption memes where photos of objects that resemble parts of the female or male anatomy are shown under one of the two titular phrases. The joke was used in the 1988 film The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! and became the subject of memes around 2017.

Origin

On December 2nd, 1988, The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! was released in the U.S. In one scene, Lt. Frank Drebin drives by the San Onofre power plant, a spherical pair of buildings that resemble a woman's breasts. He says, "Everywhere I look something reminds me of her" as they pass by (shown below).

Around April 30th, 2017, a now-deleted Instagram^[1] user posted an image macro with Drebin's caption alongside four images of things that resemble parts of the female anatomy (shown below). The post was archived by awwmemes^[2] on that date.

Spread

The format spread over the following years as people found new images to place under the caption. On August 8th, 2017, Instagram^[3] user sean_speezy posted a version of the meme, gaining over 17,900 likes in five years (shown below). On the same day, the meme was reposted to iFunny,^[4] gaining over 69,000 smiles in five years.

As the format grew in popularity, the caption "Everything reminds me of her" became more prevalent than "Everywhere I look something reminds me of her." On September 1st, 2021, Facebook^[5] page Startsfromhere reposted a meme using the format, gaining over 516,000 reactions and 52,000 shares in nine months (shown below, left). On June 3rd, 2022, Facebook^[6] page All You Can Eat reposted a version of the meme using an image of eggs that look like breasts, gaining over 96,000 reactions and 21,000 shares in three weeks (shown below, right).
