About

Fanum Throwing Broccoli is a series of memes, including video edits, based on a viral clip of Twitch streamer Fanum throwing a plate of broccoli behind him at fellow streamer Kai Cenat.

The clip was popularized as an exploitable meme format in September 2026. As a meme, the clip is often paired with captions about procrastinating on something or tossing something that isn't immediately important away. One of the most popular versions of the meme edits the clip to include an explosion after the broccoli is thrown.

The clip originally went viral in May 2023 around the time of the Fanum Tax meme and slang, which is about Fanum taxing people for a portion of their food.

Origin

On May 31st, 2023, the Fanum Live YouTube^[1] channel uploaded a short taken from one of Kai Cenat's streams. In the clip, Kai Cenat surprises Fanum with a plate of broccoli. The video gained over 7.6 million views in three years.

Fanum later said during a stream, while talking about the broccoli clip, that you do not need to eat vegetables.^[2]
