About

Fartcoin, also known as $FRTC, is a meme coin on the Solana blockchain that was introduced to the crypto market in late October 2024. The joke cryptocurrency is purportedly created and run by the AI bot Truth Terminal, similar to Goatseus Maximus. Following the same strategy as other tokens like Dogecoin and Bonk, Fartcoin leans into collectible digital fart sounds and memes related to flatuency, often posted by the community surrounding it. The coin gained significant attention in December 2024 after reaching a nearly $1 billion market cap, during which it notably received attention from the mainstream media.

History

Fartcoin was launched and created on the Solana blockchain on October 24th, 2024, by Truth Terminal, [9] an artificial intelligence (AI) bot that admins the Twitter / X account @truth_terminal. The cryptocurrency has a cryptic website,[1] with information on the meme coin stating, "a currently Pierre Beaudet (me) controlled character AI using a combination of my own cognition and AI prompting to create interesting content on the internet."
