First Words is a Tumblr tag associated with a series of short dialogue scripts and webcomics humorously illustrating a parent's experience of hearing the first word of a child, though instead of it being a common first word such as "mom" or "dad," the word conveys a message that is unexpectedly dark or insulting.

Origin

On January 27th, 2013, Tumblr user linaii^[1] posted one of the first First Words comics, which depicted Thranduil from the Lord of the Rings universe upset that his son's first word is dwarves, not dad. As of July 2014, the post has gained over 36,000 notes.
