The Flareon Copypasta is a wholesome copypasta about Flareon being the most huggable Pokemon. It is written in a similar format to the Vaporeon copypasta and as a response to it. It was posted to Reddit in January 2021 and spread over the following months, inspiring fan art and memes referencing it.

Origin

On January 10th, 2021, Redditor bwill255 made a post to /r/copypasta^[1] in response to the Vaporeon copypasta,^[2] which is about having sex with Vaporeon, about how Flareon is the most huggable Pokemon (shown below). The post gained over 60 upvotes in just under two years. It was reposted to /r/copypasta^[3] on February 16th, garnering over 570 upvotes.

Hey guys, did you know that in terms of human companionship, Flareon is objectively the most huggable Pokemon? While their maximum temperature is likely too much for most, they are capable of controlling it, so they can set themselves to the perfect temperature for you. Along with that, they have a lot of fluff, making them undeniably incredibly soft to touch. But that's not all, they have a very respectable special defense stat of 110, which means that they are likely very calm and resistant to emotional damage. Because of this, if you have a bad day, you can vent to it while hugging it, and it won't mind. It can make itself even more endearing with moves like Charm and Baby Doll Eyes, ensuring that you never have a prolonged bout of depression ever again.

Spread

The copypasta spread over the following months and was copy-pasted to numerous sites, including multiple times to Twitter,^[4] DeviantArt^[5] and 9gag.^[6] On December 24th, 2021, Redditor chocoholicmonkey17 posted the start of the copypasta under fan art of a trainer hugging Flareon to /r/pokemon,^[7] garnering over 4,200 upvotes in a year (shown below).

On March 24th, 2022, YouTuber^[8] Pyrotoz posted a voiced over version of the copypasta, garnering over 8,000 views in nine months (shown below).

On July 11th, Twitter^[9] user @touyarokii posted a piece of Gijinka artwork of Flareon as a human saying, "you want to hug me?" garnering over 13,700 likes and 1,700 retweets in five months (shown below). In a comment under the artwork, the user claims they were inspired by the copypasta.
